Most people know of the highly successful SSX series that has defined snowboarding games. But before SSX, which game was king?

1080 was by far, the leader in all respects - and, the reasons were pretty obvious.

From the start, it dazzled you at the lodge where you could pick your players, moving around from player to player as they lackadaisically acknowledged you in an impressively cool way - and as you picked your board, you knew it'd be good.

Then, you hit the slopes. The tricks could all be found in the instruction manual - and they were complicated. A 1080 required so many buttons to be pressed, it was almost impossible to pull off - but, here was the sole problem in 1080. Button mashing was the way to go. By just hammering your fist onto the pad, it'd do the coolest tricks - but that was the problem. It didn't require any fitness to pull off the best trick, and as such, the game suffered.

Still, the game for its time featured some of the most amazing graphics out there - and, whether you're a die-hard SSX guy or not, it's definitely a game you should check out.
