Comments

After years of asking, players can now protect their four-legged friends with armor in Minecraft thanks to the Armored Paws update. This is a new way to ensure your wolves are well-protected whenever you take them out on an adventure with you. But to make them, you'll first need to grab some additional items. This guide will detail everything you need to know about making Wolf Armor and how to equip it on them.

How to make Wolf Armor

To make Wolf Armor, the first thing you'll need to do is find an Armadillo. These are passive mobs that tend to spawn in the following biomes:

  • Badlands
  • Eroded Badlands
  • Savanna
  • Savanna Plateau
  • Windswept Savanna
  • Wooded Badlands
Armadillos are crucial for crafting Wolf Armor.

After successfully finding one, you'll need to craft or find a Brush. If you're having a hard time finding them, they can easily be crafted with the following items:

  • 1 Stick
  • 1 Soft Feather
  • 1 Copper Ingot

Now that you've obtained a Brush, you'll need to return to an Armadillo and press the left trigger (or left-click if you're on PC). After brushing them, the Armadillo drops one Scute. You should be able to get up to five Scutes with a single Brush. It's also worth mentioning that Armadillo naturally drops one Scute every five to ten real-world minutes. So, if you're patient, you can get them all by just waiting. Once you've collected six Scutes, you're ready to craft the Armor.

To craft it, you need only visit a Crafting Table and place all six Scutes inside.
