Activision Gets Quake II
id and Activision make a major deal to publish the anticipated sequel to Quake.
Activision announced today that it has obtained the worldwide distribution rights to Quake's sequel, whose working title is Quake II. The agreement between id and Activision was made partly on the strength of other products Activision has published for id, namely Quake Mission Pack No. 1: Scourge of Armagon and Quake Mission Pack No. 2: Dissolution of Eternity.
Activision will also release id's Hexen II.
Previous id titles, including Quake, Doom II, and Hexen, have been published by GT Interactive.
