Eve is more than a match for many of her opponents in Stellar Blade. Still, you can maximize her potential in battle by acquiring key upgradable mechanisms. Here's our guide on how to get all Exospines in Stellar Blade. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains minor spoilers.
How to get all Exospines in Stellar Blade
You can acquire Exospines as you progress through the campaign. In fact, these go hand in hand with gears, though there are some key differences between the two:
- Exospines are found in small red chests, whereas gears can also drop from enemies and bosses.
- There are only a few Exospines, but there are plenty of gears.
- Gears that drop as loot have a fixed rarity (i.e. the higher the star rating, the better the effects). Exospines, meanwhile, are upgradable.
- You can upgrade Exospines to unlock additional effects via the Repair Console.
- By default, you can only equip one Exospine at any given time. However, later in the campaign, you unlock a second slot.
Chain-Type Exospine
Location: Eidos 7 - Open the red chest in the Parking Tower just after you defeat Abaddon.
Grenadier-Type Exospine
Location: Eidos 7 - Go to the opposite end of the Flooded Commercial Plaza and use the yellow-painted indentations to reach the square. The chest in front of the room with the terminal contains this upgrade.
Protection-Type Exospine
Location: Eidos 7 - Hop on the large metal container near one of the lifts. The chest is on the second floor of a building.
Wasteland: Exospine locations
The Wasteland is a semi-open-world region. As such, it has its own map. The image above shows the locations of the Exospines in Stellar Blade.
Impact-Type Exospine
Location: Wasteland - Follow the narrow path where you'll spot a robot and a payphone waypoint. As you approach the open area beyond, you'll get attacked by several Tentacles and Beholders. Defeat them all to obtain this Stellar Blade Exospine item.
Camouflage-Type Exospine
Location: Wasteland - Repair the Solar Tower and use the floating drones to climb to the top.
Eagle-Eye-Type Exospine
Location: Wasteland - Continue along the passageway to the southeast, whereupon you can help an NPC with the Incarceration side quest. Before riding the elevator to the base of the Great Canyon, you'll spot this chest just off to the side.
Reflex-Type Exospine
Location: Matrix 11 - Proceed normally through the level until the section where a runaway train car barrels down the tunnel. After it crashes, take a look inside to obtain this reward.
Burst Trance-Type Exospine
Location: Matrix 11 - In the Underground Sewer area, you have to look for the controls to the floodgate. The chest is in the other side of the corridor.
Beta Trance-Type Exospine
Location: Matrix 11 - Continue onward until you're past the sanctuary (i.e. abandoned settlement). This Stellar Blade Exospine is in a small storage room.
Great Desert: Exospine locations
The Great Desert also has its own map. Above, you can see the locations of the Stellar Blade Exospines in this particular zone.
Recovery-Type Exospine
Location: Great Desert - After repairing the Solar Tower in the Great Desert, check the walkway at the edge of the elevated road (there's a rope mechanism near it).
Suppression-Type Exospine
In the northwestern portion of the zone, you'll come across the entrance to the Hypertube. Surprisingly enough, there's an elevated platform that's crawling with almost half a dozen enemy mobs. Eliminate all of them to open the chest with this reward.

Judgment-Type Exospine
Location: Spire 4 - Once you reach the Space Logistics Complex, you'll notice three metal orbs on the ground. Roll/push these to the circular plates. Doing so will cause a cargo container to drop. Inside, you'll find this Exospine equipment.
In any case, these are the Stellar Blade Exospines that you can acquire during the campaign. If you plan on boosting Eve further, we encourage you to check our Body Cores and Beta Cores guide.
