Better than the first and crazy combat! Suits will be missed though...

Like the first game, ZP2KX is a side-scrolling arena shooter much like that of Soldat. There are many new changes in this game which makes combat much more exciting and action packed, yet there are some slightly unwelcome changes.

Gameplay: (read my review of the last game) You are thrown into a very large arena where you duke it out with a bunch of enemies. The game has an even larger cast of weapons this time which adds to the chaos and the fun. Though the game has two big game changers this time around: Jet-packs and super guns. Jet-packs are a thing that all players spawn with and are honestly very useful for this type of game. In the previous game there was the whole "precise" climbing issue and being able to jump onto tiny platforms. Jet-packs do have limited fuel and their appearance in the game is very nice.

Now there are super weapons as well. These take the place of suits from the last game. While I thought this was a little disappointing at first (suits were crazy fun) I have to admit that the large cast of super guns makes combat hectic and unpredictable. Some of the super guns are: AK47 that shoots cats instead of bullets, a mortar that spreads fire across the map, a golden pistol that has unlimited ammo and deals crazy damage, a rainbow gun and many more. The unpredictability of super weapons is cool, but it is annoying when some of the guns are meant to be duel wielded, so the chances of picking up two super guns is rare.

But there are also super grenades! These spawn in the same boxes with super guns. The grenades are much more powerful that ordinary grenades, but sometimes feel underwhelming. One grenade is literally a nuke which has an incredible explosion radius, while another grenade is simply a blood grenade which hurts you if you stand in its aura... not nearly as impressive.

Mutators: Mutators are a new addition which makes the game replay value go up dramatically. Basically it is pre-game settings such as: everyone spawns with super-grenades, super guns only, or something like only explosives allowed. This is a fun way to mix things up.

Classes: The game now has classes that you can spawn with. These add diversity to the game and it allows you to change the appearance of your character. It is fun knowing that you can play the way you want to play with your own "perks". Essentially this takes the place of suits from the last game.

There is a new gametype which isn't overly exciting but it can be kind of fun. Basically all of the lights are off in the map and everyone has flashlights, though you can't see the opposing teams flashlights. This gamemode is made specifically for close-range combat.

Maps: The game has a much much larger diversity in maps and the visuals on the maps are very nice too. The maps aren't always big like in the last game, so some of them are very claustrophobic... just in case you like that kind of combat. Overall a very nice set of maps with nice visuals. Oh and the music has improved in this game.

Overall: A good game with lots of replay value and great multiplayer action. There are now achievements, upgrades, and customizable classes with a large diversity weapons, guns, mutators, maps, and extras. Well worth the money.
