Lowering SS Rank to A Rank

I just received a SS Rank in Zone of the Enders 2 and received the trophy and now I need to obtain the A Rank for the other one. I have heard people suggesting that they try saving 50+ times and dying more than 10 times but I have yet to see someone say that it definitely worked for them. I would hate to sit there and do that only to find I can lower myself to a Rank.
So basically, has anyone tried this method and succeeded in lowering their rank all the way to an A?

It will definitely work. Trust me.
Alternatively, you can also lower it by "Continuing" after a Game Over. If you're at a point just before the end of the game or on the last boss you can do this easily.
I'm not sure how many continues it takes, but I think it was something like increments of 5. You could do a couple and see how far that gets ya'. Prolly' a bit faster than saving over and over then beating it again.
EDIT: Misread your post a little.... Well, a lot. I'm very tired. Sorry about that.
You can lower it from SS down to A rank gradually. I did this personally. You can do it with saves or continues, your choice. There is a sort of equation that the game uses to select your rank. I forgot what it was, but, I do remember that once you hit a certain amount of either that it will automatically make the ceiling an A rank.
With brevity, just keep doing Continues or Saves, it will work.

I posted this awhile back in an old thread.
"After 52 Saves and 35 deaths I finally brought it down to rank A.
So if you guys get an initial rank SS thats what you need for an A. Probably already metioned before though."
