Does anybody else recognize the RTS possibilities with the WiiU???? If the started farting out a decent amount a RTS games i may actually purchase a WiiU. That is of course if i haven't purchased an Alienware laptop I've been eyeing ;)

@blairstheman Don't buy an Alienware.  Absolute waste of money.  Build your own -- you'll spend less money and get all the parts you want.  That and you won't have to struggle with clueless tech support or endless bugs and failures (I've been there, buddy). But yes, RTS implementation will be awesome.

@blairstheman I was thinking the exact same thing!  RTS on consoles have always been clunky at best.  This might actually top KB+Mouse.

is wiiu games will be in dvd or bluray ?

From what I read, it'll use discs that can store as much memory as a bluray but won't be bluray.

the application of the controller on this game looks great, better than the Wii controller nonsense

Wow, the game looks sweet, and the variety in gameplay really uses the Wii U's capabilities. Thumbs up!

Nice, someone has made a "Non Call of duty clone" ...

He couldnt have said it better.  "we understand what the WiiU is going to bring to the gamer.  a lot of people looked at wii and said, it sucks for every way but motion controls.  playing a game like LOZ SS shows that playing the game with m+ is just a little better then playing a game like Dark Souls with a gamepad.  sometimes the actual gameplay and expierence is more important then graphics and the same old blah story.  that is why i bought a wii day 1, and a ps3 when it got cheap.(and because my pc was outdated)

Like how the gamepad was used to swing the pickaxe. Really shows you that you don't need a stick- like controller(remote) to use "stick-like" objects (swords, bats etc)

It actually looks great...! And the control scheme looks interesting. But that controller with a screen still looks odd to me... If done wrong it could easily become just a gimmick.

That controller is quite bold in concept... There is nothing quite like it out there. If it doesn't go like Nintendo is imagining... Things could go badly for them in case they bet too much in it.

Looking great. I've been craving for a TRUE Survival Horror for quite a while now. This looks like it could be it. From just watching the trailer you can feel the tension building up. Hope it is consistent enough to justify the purchase! Looking forward to play it! :D

Looks fantastic, but it does not make me want to buy a WiiU. It sucks it's only on the WiiU....

Amazing how you could feel the tension building up in just a small glimps...great job Ubisoft! I kind of felt like the first time I played Resident Evil (the first one) Can't wait to play that game

This could be the best zombie game ever. Dead Island almost got it right, but the lack of permanent death took most of the intensity out of it. I think this game has all the right ideas.

OK, I have to admit now Nintendo has my attention.

Looks AWESOME, but Nintendo needs to keep the 3rd-party support coming in order for to spend $300 on a Wii U.

I see potential in the Wii-U just like I saw potential in the Original Xbox to change the way games are played. Now the 2 questions will be 1. Will Nintendo put out enough first party titles to show people the Wii-U is worthwhile 2. Will 3rd parties do what Ubisoft is doing with Zombie-U and make games that use the new Consoles Features instead of just tossing ports from other consoles....time will tell...

sounds great.....

but not enough to make get a WII U at launch

This actually looks really great, it almost makes me want to get a WiiU but i will not make that mistake again my Wii was only used for about a year then all the games got boring and it just sat around gathering dust!

I hope this game won't end up like Red Steel.

Hopefully more games take feelings and emotions and combine it with kinetic aspect of gameplay to enhance the feeling. a lot of games these days have similar control schemes and focus on the cinematic experience with little consideration to what the player is actually doing (e.g. pressing button sequence rather than actually solving a problem with your controls, controls themselves should provide a venue for problem solving under pressure to enhance tension)

"Wii want a realistic experience", "Wii want the players to feel like their in the game" =P

Looks like a good game fair play.

This game is actually one of only two games (the other being a Lego game of all things) that interests me on Wii U at all.  Which is why I currently have pretty much zero interest in purchasing this console.  Well that and the fact that my Wii basically has been nothing but a Netflix viewer and paper weight for the last 3 years.

Ok so basically by watching this video, I'm pretty much killing some of the suspense by him giving me hints at how to survive instead of me spending the time to find out on my own?  Yeah Glad I didn't ruin the experience by watching the video.

ZombiU looks fantastic, it is nice to see a true Survival Horror game that is putting the focus on making a tense environment.

so good :) finally a good game of survival :) mmm quite the system seller this is :) if this types of games start apeearing on the wii U i will kiss ps3 and xbox "almost evre game is accion" goodbye

snake8877

ALso let me make a point of this , by itself its a good game, but if this genere is strong on the wii u it will make it quite appealing :) i know nintendo tends to be "famyly friendly" but a guy can dream can`t I ?

Ehhh looks good, but the game pad ruins it.

Mariner32

@Fizzman What are you talking about, the gamepad *makes* the game. Without it, there's not much to distinguish it from any other zombie horror game...

swyg
swyg like.author.displayName 1 Like

@Mariner32  @Fizzman Actually I agree with Fizzman here.  Try looking up and down fast and you'll see the problem; you're going to get dizzy or experience some kind of vertigo.  Even if you hold the gamepad in front of your face towards your vision of the TV, the constant distance focus between something closer and further away will make you dizzy.  Damn, maybe there's a way to play the game without the jarring disconnect.  I was really interested in this game.

i agree on the map front also seems kinda clunky swinging the pad to use your axe im hoping thats just optional but the game does look pretty good

afrodude17
afrodude17

@swyg  @Mariner32  @Fizzman I think that's kinda what they're going for. The whole looking down to check the "survival kit" while taking your eyes off the screen adds to the tension. Instead of pausing the game to look through your backpack, you still run the risk of getting attacked.

JoSilver

@Fizzman How can you even say that? The game ain't even out yet!

I love the concept of this game! It's realism and the tension of having only one life per character is GREAT! I wanna play this so bad!

Great, at least someone doesnt appear to be worried about the "small fanbase" of survival horror games compared to action shooters.
