damn, that inventory feature on the smaller screen is pretty great. I didn't even think of that.

You forget about malty ways of game play with different controllers .

All you guys complaining about how bad the wii U is will probable still get one... If not even better, preorders are just about all sold out everywhere, the less people that get it the more chance I have to get one lol.

why play the fucking game with that controller if its gonna hurt your hands every 20 seconds?

@fuzzier You do realize that the hand cramps are part of the story of the trailer right?

this is the only game that looks good for the wii u. everything else looks like crap.

@Metallicwolf29 I don't know what you are talking about. Black Ops II, Assassin's Creed III, Tekken, Ninja Gaiden, Pikmin, LEGO City, all look amazing. So, if you don't know anything please keep your thoughts to yourself.

I really like the idea of the game, the only thing that looks unappealing to me is that the touch screen is needed way too much, I don't like the idea of having to constantly look at two different screens at the same time...

This was the only game I thought would be good on the Wii U, after seeing this video, it looks like the tablet is needed a little too much. I'm gonna wait for more solid titles to come out before consider getting one now.

i don't like the big controller in the way. Who's idea was it to make the controller so prominent?

mario_ps3
mario_ps3

@00J I agree with you.. It's kind of stupid to have a big controller when we are already used to play with regular good-sized controllers..

Hopefully, they will have an option to switch to the regular one..

This game looks awesome minus the stupid name, ZombiU?really? baaah =P

It looks great, but I don't know about that controller, that looks huge. After an hour or so of gameplay I can see that being a real pain to be playing with, doesn't look comfortable. I may be wrong seeing as I haven't played one but I doubt it

fuzzier

@residude they also show how uncomfortable it is, look at the video again it already shows after 20 seconds of gameplay haha

this game would only be fun if it was open world. and why does there always have to be some sort of end goal in a zombie game? why cant they make one that's legitimately hard to survive, in a large area, with good shooter mechanics? Day Z is awesome and all, but anybody that tells you its not clunky is hell is lying xD

I think I head to the local video game store to give this one a trial run. I wanna see if the game play is innovative or just cumbersome.

Wii U games can have all the clever innovative gadgets and gimmicks they like, but if the games aren't well-made and have no story then they aren't going to be contemporary. I'd trade an off-screen inventory system for a serious zombie survival game with a real story any day.

@MooncalfReviews I agree but zombiU is the only WiiU that interests me. mainly because it has the feeling of the old horror games that dead space 2 and RE5 lacked.

Comparing an original title to sequels in another series is pretty unfair.  Think of it this way - the original Alien was the true sci-fi horror film of the series.  The protaganist was an unknown and so was the alien threat.  We didn't know anything about the creature or how it moved, hunted or could be dealt with.  In Aliens, there's knowledge of the creature - some of it's biology, how it comes into existence, some of what works against it or doesn't... plus we know how capable the protaganist is.  It's more a survivalist and action film with horror undertones.  The other movies in the series were weak after that but you get my point.  The same holds true with Dead Space.  The first game was very much an extremely atmospheric, nerve-wracking horror game, especially if you had solid surround sound.  The second one, though intense as well, lost some of the horror feel simply from the familiarity with the source material and the fact that the story had to advance past what had already been revealed in the first game.  It's just the nature of horror.  How long can you follow a horror series before you're there less for scares and more for how creatively someone can get hacked up?

To me, putting the sniper scope, etc on a tiny screen in front of you is a waste of a perfectly good flat screen real-estate on the wall. Especially if you want to run some sort of 3d configuration, I wonder if the screen is capable of doing 3d.

@Psycold i'm with you i like looking at my HD tv if i want to look at some  tablet ill buy a i pad

ElJefeDeMedios

I really like alot of the tablet integrations they have shown here - like the map, the sniper scope, inventory management ... but as I watch this gameplay first person - it just seems un-natural, cumbersome, and like it would take me more out of the experience than add to it.  My personal jury is still out on tablets aiding gaming in general.

SIDEFX1

@ElJefeDeMedios Yes but they also will release the pro controller for which you can use on nearly every game.

Nice, this is actually one of the few horror survival games that I actually am looking forward to cause it does something new to the genre without resorting to the boring run and gun crap Resi or DS does. And since I'm not one of those arrogant fanboys that only goes for the 'cool' PS3 or Xbox 360 I can say that this game made me pre-order a Wii-U just to play the hell out of it.

I guess one will have to try out the real thing to get a feel of what it really does.

Because from watching these demos alone, I'm not at all impressed or intrigued by it.

Motroucet

Don't mean to put this game down or anything but it's quite obvious that this is more of a tech demo than a game; i.e, showcasing what and how the new gamepad could / would be used instead of crafting an original concept / story and then creating a game based on that. It's like they built a game solely for the new hardware rather than creating an original concept if that makes sense. I mean look at the title of the game: "ZombiU", wow that screams originality doesn't it, and it's not generic at all. o_O How can we take it seriously, if they don't even take it seriously?

CaptainBerserk

@Motroucet i'm with you about the name but gameplay and concept seem solid to me, i can be wrong but i think we need to reserve judgement till we play it. :)

@CaptainBerserk Yeah, you're right but as you've probably guessed I'm quite cynical when it comes to Nintendo. But I appreciate that there are people like you who are patient and not willing to jump to assumptions etc unlike me. hehe. :)How bout you play it first then tell me what it's like. :)

That controller looks really awkward, some cool ideas though :)  My biggest concern about this is the fact that "Red Steel" looked really cool in trailers before the Wii came out, hope this isn't the same deal.

@WizardGlass because why? It may not appeal to you but it will sell and sony and microsoft are watching I would not doubt that they may even copy nintendo they usualy do. secondly the system is priced pretty fair for what you get

Having to look away from the screen while in your inventory adds a bit to the realism. Looks like the game is immersive as well. If I already had a Wii I'd get it but I'm happy with DayZ atm so, meh.

Okay, so... instead of having a minimap on the GUI, they put it on the controller? Whoopdeedoo...
