Grind up your characters and see the flesh fly!
The whole key to the game is grinding the levels and ranking up each of the characters, plus, using all of the characters at the right time depending on the situation. The switching between characters is fairly strategic, as is the timing of their abilities. This game has depth, you just need to play it for more than 30 minutes, get frustrated because you get owned on level 3, and quit. Rank up your characters by grinding the initial levels and the game gets much easier, much more fun, and much more gory.
that being said, I do have a few gripes. My first one is...since it is a grinder (and I actually like that)...it makes no sense that the cut scenes cannot be skipped. The graphics are sort of meh, but there is a lot going on and they keep the frame rate steady while the zombie pieces are flying. The sound is great, the voice acting is annoying...but it is supposed to be.
The weapons are all fun and have specific uses on each map. Some reviewer said everyone but the mouthy ones gets hosed. Well, yea, if you play the game for 15 minutes and then write the review I can see how someone would come to that conclusion. But, each weapon is quite powerful and works great overall and fantastic in specific situations (choke points, bunched up zombies etc). Maya does not get dissed on her weapon, it just takes skill...it shoots though multiple zombies, of course it hits in a narrow path.
I don't write reviews but I thought his game was quiite good because you have to work at it to make the full game experience come out. Rank up your characters, their weapons, and learn to switch on the fly and use all of their abilities. It is great fun. Forget playing this COOP, although that is good. Play this solo and experience a difficult game that is not just the normal run of the mill zombie shooter.
