wow, this brought back some memories.

User Rating: 7.5 | Zelda II: The Adventure of Link NES
So I recently decided to take a trip down memory lane. I played this game like crazy when I was about 8yrs old and it was definitely my most favorite NES game. A few days ago I got my hands on a PC emulator (not Wii VC) and the ROM for this game, don't ask me where I got it cause I won't tell you. So I picked up my USB controller and took to my adventure. I'm going to try and review with almost a historic perspective. Clearly the graphics of this game are no match for new games today, therefore I just left that category blank.

Story 7.5/10:
-You can't really tell from the game what's going on, perhaps during that time period they couldn't do a lot of in game text because of size/processing limitations. But there is a story in the manual. Zelda has been put under a curse, its the first thing you see when you load your game. You have to take the 6 crystals and bring back the triforce to wake her up, or something like that if I remember correctly.
-There are also a couple side quests too.

Gameplay 7.5/10
-This game is freakn HARD! How in the world did I ever play this as a kid? I never beat the game back then and now I see why. The final castle in the game is darn near impossible. I only beat it this time cause I could save state on the emulator.
-Not your typical zelda game. This game incorporates experience, much like a RPG.

Controls 8/10
-I'm not playing this on the Wii VC, I'm using a USB controller with programmable buttons. So I really can't judge this on the Wii VC too well.
-Movement, spells, and attacks are all pretty intuitive and responsive.

Sound 7/10
-Sound effects work pretty well.
-The classic zelda theme music is awesome to this day.
-I guess I'm so used to high quality sound from today's electronics that the synthesized music got on my nerves a little bit.

Graphics x/10
-I'm choosing not to include this category cause this game came out almost 20 years ago.

Fun 8/10
This game is fun. It was fun back in the day and it still maintains a sense of enjoyment now. The later levels are really hard though. It was really nice stepping back into my childhood.
