If you like the wacky world of Disgaea, the gameplay of Disgaea, and old school dungeon crawlers, you will like ZHP.

User Rating: 8.5 | Zettai Hero Kaizou Keikaku PSP
For all intents and purposes, ZHP is Disgaea with new characters, a silly hero-spoofing storyline, and old-school grind-it-out dungeon crawling.

The game is a big parody of adventure RPGing: The Undying Hero is killed 2 minutes into the game while he's running to meet the End Game Boss. Your character is awarded the identity of the Undying Hero by the dying hero, and off you go... The game has all sorts of fun references to JRPGs, both modern and old, and I won't spoil the fun here...

The graphics, sounds, voice overs, humor, etc. are all in the Disgaea style, but with all new characters and settings. The gameplay is straight turn-based strategy RPG gaming done a-la Etrian Odyssey or any other level-based dungeon crawler: You start at Level 1 and work your way down, each level being more difficult than the last. If you die, you lose everything except your collective experience and stats. One key difference, though, is that you can start at any level you've played, you don't have to start back at level 1 every time.

Needless to say, grinding is the name of the game. If you want to survive, you will want to replay each level of the dungeon 5 to 10 times to both build up experience (you'll die the first 1-3 times you run a level), and to collect items to use. There is a lot of loot throughout, you can dual wield, gain special powers, and a wide variety of other game customizations become possible along the way, including "buying" background music, making your own buffs, etc. There's a lot to keep you busy and interested.

The good:
* Fun, fluid gameplay
* Tons of loot, equipment, buffs, etc. and a good variety of monsters
* Easy to pick up and play a little bit at a time. Levels are short, and you can save and quit after any level.
* If you like Disgaea, the characters and game world can be funny and keep you engaged.
* Lots of voice overs for dialog, good music throughout.

The not-as-good:
* Graphics are nothing cutting edge -- they are on-par with the original Disgaea releases on PSP.
* Can get repetitive, and if you're not into doing some grinding, don't play this!
* Isometric 3d visuals sometimes obscure things in an annoying way.

Overall, again, if you like dungeon grinders, or like Disgaea, or both, then get this game!
