An interesting option for the die-hard fans of the Yu-Gi-Oh series, but not necessarily adequate for the beginner.

While the idea of playing against the new characters from the GX saga might be attractive, you may want to think twice before rushing to the store and start claiming for WC 2006. ¿Why?. Because you actually have to "unlock" those characters, after dozens of duels using weak starter packs, fighting for every duel point. Of course, that´s the general idea en every Yu-Gi-Oh game. Start from scratch, buy some packs, and duel over and over and over again until you get what you want.

If you are Ok with this, then WC 2006 is a good choice. The interface is somewhat simple compared with Duel Academy, and the miniature drawings of the cards make the GBA screen look a bit chaotic, but luckily, it does not affect the rest of the game in any way. The duels are fun, even in the special modes, some of them similar to the "Timed Duel" mode from Duel Academy. There is still a "forbidden card" list, and you have to obey it to the letter, although it can be changed, once you advance in the game.

For those who want only to duel, without any strange turns in the middle, WC 2006 is a must have. But if you prefer some kind of RPG content in the game, you should look first at Duel Academy.
