I'm sure you know by now this is the best baseball game to date...if not, well you've got some gamepotting to catch up on. At any rate, other games hardly compare--aspect for aspect, feature for feature. Pitching, batting, fielding, running, general feel, etc...I bought this game last year, played it to death, sold it to a buddy come season's end, and now that the '06 season is underway, I had to pick it back up. 2k6, MLB '06 the show, and whatever other laughable garbage there is to consider don't even come close. If you're looking for a solid baseball sim, and for some reason haven't already made up your mind, do the right thing and buy mvp 2005. I'll mention a few downsides, just to be fair, complete, and honest. (In order of significance): 1) Manny on the cover (for shame, ea); 2) Soundtrack (there's one good song and it's not even that good); 3) Difficulty (contrary to what other reviews have expressed, this game is either way too easy or frustratingly difficult)....for example, the first 2 difficulty levels are pretty soft. On the Pro-level, I'd expect you lose a few out of the gate, but finish the season with at least 145 wins. This is outrageous/monotonous. The all-star level is obviously more challenging; I lost my first 8 games (playing as the D-backs) but turned it around and took the NL pennant. Difficulty-level adjustment isn't too big a deal, depending on how you like to play and what you like to see, you'll figure it out, ok...enough, buy game... P.S. One final gripe, 4) the announcing isn't so hot.
