Mixed Feelings

User Rating: 6 | Yu-Gi-Oh GX: Spirit Summoner DS
Only Yu-gi-oh! fans could love, or understand this game. Spirit Caller is the sequel to the previous DS Yu-gi-oh! game, Nightmare Troudabar, based of the Battle City Saga of the first Yugioh, only with extra characters and a bent storyline that involves you. Because it's about you, the first game is understandable, but GX doesn't promise this.

Spirit Caller is Season 1 and 2 of GX, but with less you. it exactly follows the story line, with you just copying the events. everything else is just Jaden, Syrus, Crowler, and the other interacting with themselves, and your asked yes or no questions. The battle system is still there, with new cards and baackrounds, and you finally get customizable characters. But, because the game is mostly story mode, it lacks the quality of a Yugioh Story game, othet than world championship Yugioh Games, which is more for dueling Spirits.

if you missed the first game, know how to play, or your waiting for World Champion 2008 Edition, it's good. But the lame story, and the ability to not switch to other dorms(you unlock the clothes for each game as you progress, no dorm exams like Duel Academy(GBA)makes this game seem to lack quality.
