- Mar 13, 2013 8:57 pm GMTSo ill get right to it, my question is:
Is it faster to get cards by going all the way through the tournament to the top, or should i do the first three duels, then quit?
I dunno if anyone has found out whether or not certain cards ONLY drop from the last portion of the tournament, or you can get em all from the first 3 duels. I noticed you get more points from the last portion but if you go into all 3 duels of a match, then your cards per hour arent as good. If anyone has any thoughts on this, please comment. Thank you. - Mar 13, 2013 9:12 pm GMTGrinding wise, just do the first 3 duels

Official Everything of All Boards on GameFAQs - Mar 13, 2013 9:24 pm GMTGrind Prelims until you get decent cards.
Buy DLC from marketplace.
or
Gamesave to have all the cards instantly.
Up to you. - Mar 13, 2013 9:25 pm GMTOh right.
Also, every 20 points nets you a card.
Actual Tournament nets you BETTER cards. - Mar 13, 2013 10:02 pm GMTOshimaiden posted...

Great. Thank you. yea Ive got good enough cards to destroy in the tournament. I'm running gladiator beasts, and they do amazing against the computer. It's hilarious when you got a heraklinos on their turn, your turn comes. You go into gyzarous, and then back into a heraklinos on main phase 2. Funniest thing ever!
Well thanks for the info. - Mar 13, 2013 10:34 pm GMTThe fastest way to get cards is modding your save file

I have never noticed this, and I put 500 or 600 hours into Decade Duels the year that it came out. Considering that you need to go through two or three times the amount of effort for only two more cards (50 points for playing a match) it isn't really worth it to go through the finals in my opinion.

this is false information. - Mar 14, 2013 3:44 pm GMTso does anyone know for a 100% certain?
its hard to tell myself cause sometime it seems like i get alot more cards that arent non-effect in the tournament, but then again ive gotten some awesome cards from the prelims. - Mar 14, 2013 4:19 pm GMTheadbanging411 posted...

You could try opening a ticket with Konami's customer service. Even if there is a difference though, there's no guarantee that the difference is large enough to be worth going through 2-3 duels instead of 1 duel for a payout.

You sure?
Cause every time I play the actual tournaments, I've ALWAYS netted better cards. For example, I got Obelisk the Tormentor when I beat Crow. I've gotten my GOOD Heroes from the actual tornaments. In the prelims, I get crap. - Mar 14, 2013 6:35 pm GMTOshimaiden
Obelisk
Obelisk is... not good. Obviously it's a very powerful field presence, but it requires a very large investment and for the most part if you want to get it out you need to build the entire deck around it.
Oshimaiden
GOOD Heroes
Please be more specific than that.

im gonna have to agree with him. multiple times when ive won the tournament, that last pack i got didnt include any non effect monsters. they were(maybe not the greatest) but all usable cards. - Mar 14, 2013 7:05 pm GMTt_EphY posted...

I mentioned Obelisk cause it's a "Rare" card, it's powerful, yada yada. You get the idea.
Shining Flare Wingman, a few Neos Fusion cards, I can't remember their names and I'm too lazy to look it up. Several other good cards.
Whereas, in the prelims, I almost always get normal/crappy cards like, Vorse Raider, Judgeman, etc. - Mar 14, 2013 7:08 pm GMTOshimaiden posted...

So you're getting rarer cards, but rare isn't necessarily good. Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon has only ever been printed in high rarities, and that has never been playable.

GT - EphY - Mar 15, 2013 10:52 pm GMTthe point isn't getting "rare" cards. you say "rare" cards cause your referring to rare cards in real life. this game doesn't really care about that. when you look at cards you get from a pack in this game, your looking for cards that are usable in a deck. so compare the cards that are usable to the cards that aren't usable. after looking very closely at the cards, i get more USABLE cards from the tournament then the prelims!!
read what i said VERY closely!!!!!!! - Mar 16, 2013 10:52 am GMTheadbanging411 posted...

There's an achievement for getting a "rare" card and cards are displayed with silver or gold names. Of course the game cares about rarity.

Not to be rude, but I was responding to Oshimaiden and not you. Even then, you said that you got less non-effect monsters, but plenty of non-effect monsters are still difficult to use. Look at the Chrysalis monsters, Vehicroids, etc.

thats just an achievement. they have to make something up for that. and it doesnt seem like you pay much attention to the cards you get, or you dont play that much. just test it yourself. compare cards you get in the prelims to cards you get in the tournament. im not saying one way or the other but for me. i seem to get more usable cards in the tournament. im very perceptive. - Mar 16, 2013 8:09 pm GMTheadbanging411 posted...
