After seeing reviews I thought the game would suck but.......
YS is a great RPG that you can just jump into right away. The graphics are great and have a anime style to them. The animations are awesome too though I can see why some people might have complaints about the classic simplicity to the graphics and animations. Very solid and nice effects.
The gameplay is fast paced and action packed for a classic hack 'n' slash game, most hack 'n' slash are just slow repetitive chopping up enemy after enemy but YS adds speed to the gameplay. You can jump and string together nice combos and dodge the enemies attacks. Much better then most hack 'n' slash swordplay. Like most RPG's you basically run around killing, leveling and buying new equipment or defeating generals or bosses. Gameplay is top notch and very simple and addicting.
The sound is great, very nice fantasy music playing in the background and sword effects. The major thing that I like about the sound is it doesn't have over the top grunting and battlecrys that get so annoying in most hack 'n' slash RPG's. But as always the music does get repetitive after a while.
I probably wouldn't play through this game more than once or twice because there's always something new coming out but it's a great buy and something I'll go back to in the future.
