The pleasure you get out of playing Y’s comes at a very hi price because of those awful load times.
The music is a good complement to the gameplay of Y’s, which is more an action RPG in which you get to smash them buttons to fight. Its graphics are at the most average but the backgrounds look crisp on the PSP’s screen and of course we have to remember that Y’s has that old school look so basically everything looks 2d but it actually is 3d.
At the end of the day I would not recommend Y’s to everybody, I am satisfied to have seen it through to the end but the load times simply disrupt the gameplay too much, specially when you have to jump to platforms at the risk of falling to room that is a couple of screens away it simply becomes a dreaded shore. But, if you are the patient type and want to take on a solid action RPG or if you are a fan of the series and prefer the PSP over the PS2 this is the game for you.
