Old school classic Rpg comes to the PSP, do it fill the RPG need ....... well it's close.
Graphic - Not the best seen on the PSP the developer went back to 2d sprites that while detailed seem outdated. Small sprites and text take away from all the interest character, and level. There are so many different types of characters and monster in the game, I just wish the graphic were better.
Sound - The sound track, affects are all good there are many catchy tones that will get stock in you head after playing the game for some time.
Gameplay - The action is fast and fluid, real time combat with sword and magic attacks and combos ....... but the load times between level slow down the action. The Loads are not long maybe 30 sec each but they happen every time you enter a new area. Weapons need to be updated offend to defeat bosses and other stronger monsters. You get three different swords one has wind magic, one has fire, and another has lighten each one offers different combos and magic attacks. So be prepared for a lot of leveling up at you play though the adventure.
Ys is a fun game it has a solid story, cool character, and unlockables, plus a new time attack mode. So if you are into classic RPG or you missed out on the console version Ys VI is a good RPG that is loads of fun. While this game is getting bashed for being a toned down port of a PS2 game, Ys VI is a fine additions to the PSP library. You play the classic role of the lone hero who must save the world but unlike past RPG you character is well known by most. But don't worry if you have played Ys' game before this game has a new story that stands on it's own. So if you are looking for a fun fast pace action RPG then you may enjoy what Ys VI has to offer.
