To be honest I have never played the genre of YS. From what i hear, RPG fans rave that it is one of the best RPG's known to man. When i played this game i felt like it was a pretty good buy. First impressions can be very disceiving. Seeig the cinematics, the game looked visually pretty good, the voices had me quite iffy. Finally after a 5 to 10 min intro, I begin to play the game. The gameplay is nice and simple, as i progress through the storyline, i hope to learn more about what the title means in the game. I feel that it didn't really inform me a whole lot it just kind of told me mostly about there personal problems according to the eresians, and those elf things. Somehow through the crazy story of back and forth arguing you end up with the 3 legendary swords of the ark of napishtim. It feels all well and good, but you hope that you can do more with these weapons then what you are able to do. All you can do with them is a couple slashes, and just one kind of special move with each one. Personally i felt that they could have made several really neato moves for each sword. I never felt like that any of the characters were very memorable. The voice acting in this game had to be one of my top 5 worst of all time. I could have found better voices in a alley of bumbs. Most of the characters, are very annoying with there constant naging, giving you messages that make absolutely no sense what so ever. If you EVER play this game just rent. It's only good for just knowing a YS part of the series. The game is way to simple for a PS2 game. The story is really bare, voice acting just plain is BAD.
