It's definently not a bad game.

It's time for the Yoshi Topsy Turvy Review! For the GBA.

This was my first Yoshi platformer game. And I gotta say, I had a good time with it! Let's see why.

The story is about Bowser wrecking havoc on Yoshi's Island. Hongo, a book spirit traps the entire island into a storybook. Yoshi has to convince Hongo to release the rest of the island from the book, so off Yoshi goes.

The most noticeable feature in this game is the tilt sensor which is built into the cartridge. You tilt your GBA system for it to work. It's used to solve puzzles and such. The tilt sensor is compatible with the DS, so that's a plus. There are two different options for systems, regular GBA or GBASP/DS. That was nice because I didn't have to get my GBA just to play this game.

In each level there is a different objective to do. Some involve collecting apples, getting coins, defeating enemies, etc. You don't have to beat all the levels, you just have to beat enough to move onto the next world. Some levels have double missions where you have to complete 2 missions, and if you don't complete both you FAIL.

In my opinion the first levels in this game are just too easy. But in the later levels the game is just WAY too hard! I was stuck on this one level for a long, long time! The speed levels are the hardest!

More about the tilt sensor. You can tilt your GBA to climb walls, aim in a cannon, or roll out bridges. I did have a few problems when tilting, the sensors would become unresponsive or go the opposite way I wanted it. Luckilly you can calibrate them, which does help.

There are also veichles that you can control like the boat that use the tilt sensors.

The graphics are fine for this type of game. They are storybook style which is appropriate for a Yoshi game.

The controls worked fine. I wrote about the tilt sensors already, so I'll talk about buttons. Use the control pad to move and A to jump. That's really it.

As I was playing near the later levels there was something about the game I couldn't put my finger on. Then it dawned on me. The missions soon started to get repetitious, so I started to get a little bored playing near the later part of the game. I still have yet to finish the game!

Overall, this game isn't really that bad. If I did have to find problems though, I would have to say that the tilt sensors didn't work all the time and the missions got repetitious. But overall it's still not a bad game.

This game gets a 7 out of 10 with the title of Good.
