This is truly my favorite Sony exclusive, I have 30 + hours on Yakuza 3 right now, and have not for one second been bored with the game. There is WAYYY to much to do, and the best part is just about everything is enjoyable, it doesn't bore you.

No it is not really like GTA, you cant go bezerk on the population, actually the population goes beserk on you. The Game is more like Shenmue with a hardcore more violent edge. It ;s a cooler, Rated R Shenmue. As to your second question. Yes it is worth playing. It is an open world game, but you do not have absolute freedom to kill and maim everyone in sight. Unlike Shenmue you can use weapons. Specific weapons you buy or use your enviroment for weapons. Great games, and it's an easy game to earn trophies for. P.S. you cant drive cars.
