Disappointing & Overrated!

Yakuza 3 was a bit of a disappointment to me. Perhaps its because this title was my first in the trilogy and maybe playing the other 2 previously could have changed that. But I seriously doubt it. My main complaint is all the damn reading and dialogue and trust me there is LOTS of dialogue. Now I know that this is an imported game but come one it felt like the old Final Fantasy days reading all that junk. But on the upside the graphics are smooth and the cutscenes are sharply done. And there is plenty to do in this game. The story alone will have you going for days and not to mention the extra content. LOTS AND LOTS of extra content and special side tasks and side missions for u to explore as well as places to explore. The fighting system is a good feature as you are able to pit all kinds of combo and maneveurs against your opponents. And you can pretty much pick up or use any element in the game as a weapon. You can even do certain special attack moves depending on what object you are standing next to while fighting an opponent. The boss fights are really cool and were one of my favorite features of the game. The story could have used a little work and was a snooze fest to me. My other main complaint is all the boring and frustrating things you had to while you are the orphannage which is by the way where you will spend half your gameplay time at. It is ok at first but after the 50th time you are required to do some boring and seemingly stupid task you tend to grow tired of it and ready to get back on the streets and fight. That pretty much sums it up. Some will say I am a little hard on it but it just didn't do much for me. I can just find better things to do with my time than run around an orphannage the majority of the time chasing and dealing with ignorant kids. Check it out if you are a fan of the franchise but don't recommend it to newcomers to it.
