This one is way more towards character development and interaction then the last one or the next one.

I enjoyed this game more then the previous one because it added more character depth then the first one and the battle system get's a better update from the first one though it's mostly the same. You also get some new features and equipment to use which changes a lot too. Now, the game may feel shorter then the first game, but it's actually longer, you just move through it faster.
One thing to note is that it adds more questions then it actually answers, especially the ending, but that's just good for a mid-series game. Never answer to many questions at once and always make more, right? But other then that, it got a great story of it's own and it shows the past that was experienced by about half or your main characters.
I do like the revamp of the skills and customization of the character done for this game. It's a lot less confusing then the first. Plus, each character actually had it's own set of skills, it wasn't a poor rip-off of the FFX sphere grid system like the first one.
Anyway, I enjoyed playing this one far more then the first, though you always have to play a series in order.
