A good game that just could not surpass the first one

When I bought the first xenosaga I never put it down I played through the game three times so when i heard the second one was coming out I was dancing in the streets however after i got it and took it home and began playing I found the game was barely half as good as the first one the mini games are pretty dull and if you chose to skip them you end up without many important abilities and the to make things worse you can no longer switch into mechs in battles sure the graphics are better and there are new bad ass characters but in my mind the cost is to high
