Absolutely TIMELESS... kicks modern RPGs butt to Chinatown!

User Rating: 10 | Xenogears: Elyhaym Van Houten Edition (Square Millennium Collection) PS
Xenogears has always been my favourite RPG world for quite some times now. The most compelling attribute to the world of Xenogears is the immersive storyline behind it. Such is what makes RPGs enjoyable. It is exciting, fast-pace, deep, melodramatic - evoking all colors in the spectrum of emotions human beings are capable of.

GAMEPLAY - Xenogears has a classic gameplay interface, with a few unique and enjoyable spins. The most noted is the ability to create different combinations of attack. This was very exciting because you have to be adventurous in-order to gain set-killer combos. Overall, I have submerge into Xenogears for over a hundred hours (RARELY DO I PLAY A SINGLE GAME THAT LONG), and still have not gotten bored.

PLOT/STORY - By far, the storyline is the most important trait any avid RPG players would look for. Xenogears paints a brilliant, colorful, and extremely profound and controversial plot that would completely linger in a deep-thing mind well after the game is completed over and over again. What tilted this game into my top 1 RPG is that the game tackles the greatest question unanswered in life - "What is the meaning of life?" The answer, given with relations to all religions was SHOCKING! Very vivid in all details, there is no loophole in it's plot.

MUSIC - spectacular as always from SquareSoft. It is in perfect synchronization with the game's pace and emotion.

VALUE - ... Absolutely timeless. I rather be playing this RPG again over the new Final Fantasies, ShadowHearts, KingdomHearts, or any other RPG in the world. ... And i have played a lot of RPGs...

FINAL NOTE: (at least read this if you're skipping the review)
Flawless in all aspects, XenoGears is a must-have in all RPG collections. The immersive plot of love and compassion surpass any other RPGs, including that of Final Fantasy 7. Exceedingly profound and controversial, the theme is very shocking, and overall very scary.

My greatest fear in life is that there is no afterlife... This game gave me an alternative, and menacing solution to this mystery.

If there are people still watching this old game, i hope my review helps.
