Ive always been a fan of XCOM as a strategy fan but im not a fan of turn based gameing, I prefer real time. In Company of Heroes the best RTS game ever made in my opinion you could press the space bar pause the game and think about your next move, taking turns dont work for me. If a demo comes out I'll have a look.

Hope the Aliens can aim and hit with their weapons just as good as the humans.

This is the show stealer, I am disappointed that I can't vote for it though. I spent a half hour voting for viewers choice and Xcom never came up. This is the only game I have to have day 1!

Every X-Com since "Terror from the Deep," has been a disappointment. This one shows a lot of promise, and I'm actually kind of excited!

I miss time units from the original X-com, or even better the real time command of X-com Apocalypse.

its definitly console footage, there is no (B) key on keyboard :)))) and the B key is hardly ever used for a default came control setup. as a PC gamer i hate when i see those console buttons on the screen, thats what im more worried about that the steamlining, being unable to grasp the controls and because im always spamed with console buttons on the screen even tho i dont want to use such a device.

@wizbiz20 So you must of hated the first xcom game since it was also on PS1 as well as PC because that totally screwed over all the pc gamers and their mouse and keyboards.

Xcom came out on PC and Playstation, so any PC gamer who says they are PC Xcom player and this will be bad because of consoles doesn't know what they are talking about.

 @stan_boyd Look.  It's really simple.

If it's developed for the PC and ported out to the platforms then it leads to a great game.

It it's developed for he platforms and ported to the PC it leads to utter simplified pap that at very least is fun on the platform but bites on the PC.

Yet to see anything that breaks this rule. (Unless it bites on all systems...like that new Duke Nukem).

It doesn't matter if the original was awesome enough to be developed for both the PC and PS1. (and Amiga FWIW.)  It's not about "PC better than Platform" and frankly I loathe PC/platform exclusives and I say "the more the merrier."

It's about better developed games for everyone when they start out being PC centric and are cleverly ported to the platforms without over-simplification.

@stan_boyd The original X-Com was released first for the PC and then ported to the Amiga and Playstation.

It's not about PC gamers vs. console gamers, it's about designing the game right for each system. Developers - strapped for time and money - will sometimes take shortcuts when they port.

PC Gamer complaints are generally in response to a console interface developed for a console and then ported to a PC, which can be awkward. Case in point: Unreal Tournament 3, which had extremely limited graphics customization options relative to its predecessors, and menus that were lifted straight from the console. It made for unnecessarily excessive menu navigation just to get into the game.

Personally I think this will be pretty great regardless of platform.

It actually looks pretty good.

As a PC Gamer I don't get huffy when they port it to consoles AFTER they develop it for the PC.

It's when they develop it for the consoles and THEN port it o the PC.

One screams of quality the other screams "training wheels".

This looks really good, if the PC requirements aren't too high I'll get it for PC but turn based strategy on console is doable too.....

I like the turn-based part of it.. It's nice to not have a real-time game for once. I do wonder if it's possible to save in the middle of a game though. But it looks pretty good.

Well that just looks like a spot-on recreation. Totally getting it. Probably on console too.
