"Don't believe the hype"

Save yourself £27 and buy the original until Firaxis get their act together and sort what should have been fixed pre-release. Cover system has bugged items (this is crucial to the game so on higher difficulty is game breaking), and the Panic system seems to scale linearly with difficulty played on, making classic and above result in 2/4 of your squad panic at any one time, unless they are doing nothing. Also, whoever designed the camera controls/angles clearly had no idea what they were supposed to be doing.

Personally, i think this game lacks a lot of the depth of the original or any of the replayability. It seems to have taken the concepts that made people remember the original and misunderstand what made them good in the first place. The only thing i can generally say has definately improved is the sound board. - Serves me right for dreaming I suppose.
