And I deserved to lose them. I played like an idiot, and I'll never make those mistakes again.
This game is awesome.

It's refreshing to play a newer game that forces you to play better rather than holding your hand the whole time.
(Also, thumbs up to you good sir for inciting me to look up what a 'Pyrrhic victory' was.)

Yeah my first playthrough, i had a choice of three abduction missions, I could choose one while the other two went hysteria no matter which one i chose. That and it was like 2 days before the end of the month deploying satellites would be useless.
Is you had satellites in stock, you could have deployed them for an instant 2 panic point reduction. The only thing you miss out on by not having them actually launched by the end of the month is the (chance at if you're playing higher difficulties) month end 1 point panic reduction.

I usually move around slowly in one overwatch deathball, taking care not to stack too close.
But this time I slacked off, I triggered an ethereal at the end of my turn (don't ask -.-)Heavy got mind controlled and bam bam, 3 of my guys lose a tonne of hp (titan armour ftw) and are in no cover.
Won in the end, but lost 4 colonels...

Needless to say, pitting rookies against chryssalids is a poor life choice even on normal... I also learned that zombies get a full turn the moment they get up, lost 2 rookies but from that moment on, I always bring my best guys on all terror missions.
