Defense?

Is the Defense stat supposed to reduce damage taken or do something else? cause it doesn't seem like it does when i put on ghost armor which gives +20

Defense means the enemy has less chance to hit you, it just modifies their to hit ratio.

It reduces their chance of damaging you (hitting you).
