Brian Lara's back at the crease

The world's leading Test run scorer returns for 2007, complete with an official World Cup mode.

The only cricket game to ever reach number one in the Chart Track All Formats UK game chart was Brian Lara International Cricket 2005. Since then, cricket's profile in the UK has skyrocketed, most notably after the England team reclaimed the Ashes last summer. Although performances since then have been variable to say the least, anticipation is building for the Cricket World Cup next year. To capitalise on that, Codemasters has announced the release of Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 in March 2007.

The game will ship with several play modes, including an ICC Champions Trophy competition and one-off Tests or One-Day matches. Most notably, however, the game will include official ICC Cricket World Cup content, meaning that hundreds of the world's top cricketers will be fully licensed.

Several aspects of the game have been improved, including batting, bowling, and fielding. Player likenesses will now be photo-realistic, and all official World Cup stadia in the West Indies will be re-created for the game. Brian Lara International Cricket will be available for the Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 2 and will be playable online and across Xbox Live.

I don't know where you from but cricket games are very profitable. Cricket by EA was number 1 for a while in the UK.

I think the game of cricket is largely ignored by the developers.........may be due the fact that cricket games are not as profit making as football games....i mean , look at the quality of fifa world cup and cricket 2007 on 360. The Fifa games outclasses the cricket 2007 way ahead....

I if you want to play BLC:2007 for 360 in US just get the Converter PAL to NTSC. I am playing BLC: 2005 in my NTSC PS2 without any Color problem using PAL to NTSC Convertor, I am going to do the same with my 360...

I don't care if there is no US launch, but at least make an NTSC version so we can import it.

From the screenshots, they do have some ways to go though. This is next gen!!!

It's still coming to Australia isn't it? It'll no doubt be called "ricky ponting cricket" like the last one. And we better get the ashes back again...

this is really disappointing that there will not be a US launch for this game. the game is headed by one of the greatest Caribbean batsmen ever, in the first images available, a west indian batsman is shown and since there is no US launch, we will not be able to try it out. plus the icc world is being held in the caribbean, this is just rubbish. i mean there wa a US launch for rugby which is even more of a european sport than cricket and the olympic and winter olympic games...i which were not very good games in they first place. i think that 2007 should be the year of a US launch to capitalize on the world cup being held, just like with the world cup and soccer.

If this is coming in March 07, then why no PS3 release. I am sure it is out there, because otherwise is this a sign of things to come?

Guitar Hero is linked with the 360 too, but not the PS3. So if that is a PS2 exclusive then why is it not linked with the PS3 over the 360. Its wierd....

You poms are dreaming, you win once in years and you act cocky, you ain't number 1 and won't be in the immediate future. Smashed? It could of gone either way the whole series b ut one of the pom players had to put a tennis under McGrath's foot to get him injured to ensure it, ROFL.
