Blitz demo sacks XBL

Midway's fictional football franchise now available for free on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Electronic Arts and Madden NFL may own the licensed football gaming market, but one other franchise has proven there is room for two pro football simulations. Midway's Blitz: The League bucked the notion that a football game needed a pro license and performed well in retail despite not being an NFL-sanctioned game. Now the fictional league, colorful characters, and over-the-top action can be sampled for free on the Xbox 360. A free demo, weighing in at 1.35GB, is now available on Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox Live Gold members. The demo will be available for Silver subscribers next week. For more information, read GameSpot's review of the game.

Actually I am glad that there are better and more original football games out there besides those bad EA ones.

Blitz is nice and all for unrealistic football, but want I really want is to see a comeback of Mutant League Football/Hockey!

I would have to say that this is much more fun to play than madden for me. Midway is going in the right direction with this franchise. Clean up the graphics, improve the multiplayer and add the usual tweaks to franchise mode and we should have a serious competitor for madden.

I'm going to have to buy this game if I want a football one because Sega doesn't make one anymore and I can't stand Madden.

Just tried the demo... I hate it when they let you play only one period/quarter... just like in the NHL 2K7 demo...
Just rent it to get a better idea of the game...
