E3 06: Namco Bandai reveals next-gen lineup

Tekken 6, Ridge Racer 7 slated for PS3; Mobile Ops and Culdcept Saga coming to Xbox 360.

Namco Bandai Games America today revealed a lineup of four next-generation console games, with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 each getting a pair of offerings.

On the PlayStation 3, Namco Bandai is prepping the next iterations of two of its most popular series with Ridge Racer 7 and Tekken 6. A teaser trailer for Tekken 6 was shown as part of Sony's E3 conference at last year's show, while gamers are still waiting for their first glimpse of the seventh Ridge Racer.

Over on the Xbox 360, Namco Bandai has a pair of new games on its US lineup. There's Mobile Ops, a first-person action game set in the Gundam universe (originally announced last July at the Xbox Summit in Japan), and the more recently announced Culdcept Saga.

While the Monopoly-meets-Magic card-battling series has had success on multiple platforms in Japan, it has made only a single appearance domestically, the 2003 Culdcept on the PlayStation 2.

The Namco Bandai release includes no mention of three other recently announced Xbox 360 games that seemed to be likely candidates for a US release: Zegapain XOR and the Xbox Live Arcade games Galaga and Pac-Man.

    I'm a Tekken fan, but the arcade version of Tekken 6 is hard,especially because of the game's final boss,Azazel!

    Tekken 6 doesnt looks as good as it should have been but its no way crappy.

    tekken 6 looks pretty crapy,graphics look dry and lifeless,far from next gen?

    I ask you what's worse having 2 titles like Culdcept and Resident Evil 5 not show at E3 because RE 5's no where near ready and Culdcept is a low priority title. Or Spending millions on a prerendered cut scene to hyping a new platform only to have nothing to show for it after a whole year of development. Way to go Sony if Kill Zone 2 doesn't launch within 2-4 months of the actual system it's Game Over. Or are they foolish enough to think they have some kind of "halo killer" that they can release when ever Halo 3 ships. If that's the case than RIP PS3 .

    hurray for sequels... lord knows there are certainly enough of them for ps3. Fony fanboys must be pleased.. anyone with sense stays away from ANY game suffixed with 6 or 7.

    Namco - Ridge Racer series sucks and the fact you are keeping Tekken to PS will hurt in the end. The prices for the 360 and PS3 will be such most people will only own one system and you will not get any cross platform owners like you did in the past.

    The PS3 is looking more and more like its headed for disaster.(come up with something else besides Tekken and Ridge Racer please!)

    Mit_Man Ridge Racer 6 was a Boring sequel for the 360 and Tekken will do well because there are fans that love it unlike DOA

    PS: Tekken Don't relie on boobs to sell games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
