Ubi bringing Armored Core to PS3, 360

French publisher bringing latest installment in From Software's robotic action series to North America in September.

Like exploding barrels and well-concealed first-aid kits, giant robots have always been a staple of the gaming industry. Ubisoft is doing its part to ensure that trend continues in the future. The French publisher today announced that it will publish From Software's Armored Core: For Answer on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

As the 13th installment in the long-running mech combat series, For Answer offers a twist for the franchise formula of building mercenary giant robots from hundreds of spare parts to fight against other similarly situated pilots. The phrase "giant robot" will be put into perspective when players fly their mechs against massive mobile battle stations in a series of 10 David-and-Goliath-style boss fights.

The game includes a handful of other features, such as an online co-op mode with 30 missions and eight-player online melees in 80 different arenas. From Software is also giving players the option of beginner and advanced control schemes to ease new pilots into the game.

This will be Ubisoft's first release of the Armored Core series. Last year's Armored Core 4 was published by Sega, while previous installments were brought to North America by Agetec and Sony Computer Entertainment America.

    I tried the Armored Core 4 demo and it wasnt much.

    Hey which console has bluray?., which console has home?, which console has a free online service?, which console has better quality and isn't famous for defects?, I can play Halo 3 in three years on the PC when they port it over like they did with Halo 2, which console gets BioShock obviously its Both of them.

    This game looks wicked! I just hope the missions are bigger than the ones at AC4. And i don't care if it's released on X360 too. As long as it's a good game and i get to play it, nothing else matters.

    At capsulef: From Software develops all Armored Core games Ubisoft is only publishing this game however it might or might not influence in how From Software develops the entire game.

    As for which company did the best job on publishing AC games I would have to say Agetec because during the Agetec days they gave us AC2, AC: Another Age, AC: Silent Line, AC: Nexus, AC: Formula Front.

    rharrigal its just halo aha and its really only because of that bc its cheaper and hackable but no harm =D i love armored core its my favorite series

    I love armored core gamers, but ubi is a bad developer. This will probably not be good, especially because it had to suck for them to develop it for the 360 as well.

    AC4 is crap, repetitive, i didnt like it, well, ubi soft made naruto into a reality, so i hope this game will be as good in its perspective, im going to buy it anyway

    Chromehounds 2 would be way better than this crap! AC hasn't been good since the 90's.

    SWEET! I've been looking forward to another Armored Core. Very surprised and happy that they are springing this news on us 2 months before release.

    And yea player_leo it sucks man, all these games comin out at once are too expensive for limited budgets, wish I didn't have to eat then I could get all the games being released this fall/winter.

    I crap people ! I can't afford all these great games coming out at once. Plus the time at takes to play them. Just great, another awesome game coming out in September. Did anyone else see this coming?

    That's a weird title
    Anyway, Armored Core is an awesome series but I think From Software should make more King's Field games too instead of focusing so much on AC. King's Field is a first person RPG series that's better than Elder Scrolls IMO.

    i already played the demo on both systems, it was great! the 1st boss of that game, when you see it from a distans you say "man it looks really big from a far distants" then you get closer and wonder "why is it still gettting bigger?" then when your infront of it its HUGE! TOO BIG it took up my hole screen and had my subwoffer kickin! the ps3 version did seem to have a better frame rate and for some reason the ps3 version had phenomenal sound, it was way better than what i herd on 360, it was very loud and clear. i hope it stays that way, im a fan of the series so i like the feel of armored core with a ps3 controller naturally instead of 360

    Ubi is one of my favorite publishers, I look forward to seeing how this works. I have AC: 4, the battles seemed quick and over too soon. Otherwise I enjoyed it. But I would like a Chromhounds 2 first.
