Two Worlds succumbs to Temptation

Once-expansion, now-sequel follow-up to SouthPeak and Reality Pump's 2007 action RPG arriving for Xbox 360, PC this fall.

In November, SouthPeak and Reality Pump confirmed retail listings that an extension to its action role-playing game Two Worlds was in the pipe. At that time, however, Two Worlds: The Temptation was billed merely as an expansion to the original Xbox 360 and PC title, with Reality Pump promising a bevy of new story points, environments, and combat mechanic tweaks.

It now appears those tweaks have outgrown the term "expansion." SouthPeak today announced Two Worlds: The Temptation will, in fact, be a sequel proper to the original game, and will be available on the Xbox 360 and PC this fall. As initially stated, The Temptation will continue Two World's storyline, with the game taking place in Easter Antaloor, which is in proximity to the Oswaroh and Drak'ar Desert.

Aside from what has already been said about The Temptation, SouthPeak provided little new information about the upcoming sequel. The publisher did make several promises, however, saying the missions will be more involved, voice-overs and animations will be improved, horseback riding has been revamped, combat mechanics have been completely reworked, and the game's engine has been completely replaced.

At first i didn't play this game because of the bad reviews (mostly by users). Then one rainy day i decided to buy a downpriced copy, just becasue i was in the mood for some rpg-ing. And man, what a sweet surpise this game was. The world was HUGE, the graphics better then i expected, with lots of missions to do, and i really liked the inventory system. Very old school, but sweet. I really got hooked on this game. (despite the horrible 'nay? way leigh pray? YAY!'-speak... and the uninvolved voice acting) I am really looking forward to part II.

guys .. you didnt even give the first game a chance .. i mean yea it didnt start as we all expected and all , but after like 2-3 hours into the game i was already hooked .. Oblivion was boring .. i didnt feel any major story spark all i did was just roamed the lands and towns and did shiat all .. in Two worlds , despite its mechanical issues the game took me in. the Story is awsome how they kidnapped your sister and tried to get you to help them in order to save your sister and how i meet her at that special mode and talk to here here and there , basicly the story was Awsome .. the game is a True 100% a Free roaming RPG i absolutely LOVED when i went to that ruined castle and cleared it all from the remaining Orcs as a part of one of the missions i had , i liked the main character's attitude and voice , its abit of a different dialogue .. the Music is AWSOME!!!!!!!!! especially that one song i always listen to in Tharbakin lol i just stop there and listen to it cuzz its soo awsome its a catchy tune ... basicly the game inspired me i like it ALOT more than that boring oblivion .. .. and gamespot STILL gave Two worlds an OK score for a reason ... im Definetly getting Two Worlds2 .. im sure they are gonna improve performance and fighting and follow up with an amazing story

I didn't play the original Two Worlds until well after it was patched several times. By the the game was mostly fixed so I enjoyed the game. It had it's faults but there were some good times as well. It didn't fulfill it's promise to be an "Oblivion killer" but I didn't really expect it would. Regardless, I'll keep an open mind to the sequel.

It's amazing, after the train wreck that was the first Two Worlds, they would even attempt another game.

and speaking of your character the character cusomization is pretty horrible. the very first cutsceen does not even show the person that you made! just some generic person then he transforms into your guy once you start playing. the monsters not respawning is stupid. they should have atleast tried to simulate a real environment by having the wolfs and bears having babys and you could go in there nest and kill them all or something. from what i have read so far about this game it seems like there trying to make it play like assasins creed, and there making the story even more god awful. people are better off waiting for oblivion 5 or dragon age instead of this game.

@GodDemon how is oblivion not an rpg? yes you and go around and do whatever you want but how does that mean its not an rpg? just because the monsters level with you means its not an rpg? that makes about as much sense as a screen door on a submarine. at least oblivion has a solid story with some good lore, not the pile of crap that is two worlds storyline. it has loads of things to do so you will be playing for atleast 70 hours before you get done with it( not counting the extra gameplay the expansions deliver) while i beat two worlds 100% around 10 and in that same amount of time i was practically unbeatable. the whole upgrading thing was weird. i mean how can you combine two swords? if they had a magic forge you went to then okay it would make some sense put just putting them on top of one another and having them combine is pretty stupid. the voice acting is pretty much horrible. everyones a clone. the cities are pretty small even the capital of the human nation and the capital of the orcs are both smaller than the cities in oblivion. the law system is very very stupid. i mean you kill a guy and the whole town attacks you. the same thing happen in oblivion but before that they give you the option of paying money(which they also give you the option to do in two worlds, sometimes) or going to jail(and there are no jails in two worlds). two worlds combat animation was pretty stupid. you attack and you guy is trying to do all this fancy fighting but just looks stupid.

two worlds was terrible the 1st hour i played it. it sat at home for 6 months i diddnt touch it even though my girlfriend had knocked it off within 2 to 3 weeks. (nay? way leigh pray? YAY!) it was jerky, graphics were sub par, the false enthusiasm of the protagonist and the terrible menu interface served enough to sign its death warrant to me. but then id finished oblivion, halo etc and two worlds was sitting there. after deliberatley making myself sit in front of it for 3 hours something magical happened: i got rid of the horse, i learnt some spells, i shut down some skelden scum then i liked it. i hate to admit it to this day but i enjoyed that jerky, buggy, freezy, glitchy, terribly laid out game and i diddnt know why i liked it. like a few have said: if they can iron out the rough edges (and MAN theres some rough edges!) i will be immensely happy. im just not getting my hopes up too high... dragon age is the latest rpg on my radar for now... and wheres elveon?

It's better than oblivion because it's more of an RPG, where as oblivion is just a free roamer not an RPG in anyway, as it diden't feel as you improved in combat and enemys where still big threats to you even while at LV 50! So they can't compare. An RPG to me is where you can feel that those hours of play have payed of and you can go around killing everyone with one hit, as well as the ability to upgrade more than 8 things! Two worlds was one such game and there where 50 things to upgrade in, you could also upgrade your armor and you could upgrade spells and feel like a GOD! If in this game they fix the grapics, voice and camara then we have a masterpiece here.

Even though the first was absolutely horrible, I will check this one out. If they can fix the frame rate issues, and make the game have a bit more direction, then I will love it.

Still I am surprised one guy said he only liked it because he played Oblivion. You should check out Morrowind.

I must say I'm looking forward to this game. Hopefully it will prove better than the original. The screenshots look awesome.

Let's hope the gameplay proves to be just as good as the screenshots are.

the first looked awesome and i was stoked for it when it came out but it was a dissapointement.
the gamespot reveiew warned me and the demo proved it.
ill be weary of this one.
it had such potential, but it didnt come through. hopefully this will.

i liked Two Worlds quite a bit but i was not really expecting any thing ground breaking, the graphics were not that bad at all, the combat was ok, and the vioce acting did not bother me that much, controling the horse was a problem and became fairly frustrating at times..the main thing was the story seemed kinda weak and honestly i did all the side missions i could because the main missions just were not that great. i think the best part of the game was the actual rpg elements, making potions, poisens, traps, weapons, and armor .... so i am excited to play the next one
