Stan Lee is, without a doubt, one of the coolest people on the planet. The man is a living legend, nothing else needs to be said.

It makes me much to sad to know that this mans work has several times been disrespected through HORRIBLE games for example spidey games.

Excelsiorrrr, my dear Stan, you haven't played the latest abominations on your loved heroes that they have done, specially with Spidey and Iron Man, terrible video games, exception and thank god for that, Marvel Ultimate Alliance is beaten only by the newest Batman Game, way to go Stanley! You're marvelous and that's what matters, thank you for all your work

Stan Lee is awesome!! He seems like he's aging well. I dont know any other 87 years old you could sit with and chat about movies /games or comics that would be more interesting or knowledgeable. I loved him in Kevin Smith's Mallrats.I dont mind him in the marvel movies ,it is just a cameo. I think of it as a nod to all the comic fans.

It is great to hear Stan Lee discussing comics and marvel anytime.I love to watch for his cameos in all the marvel films. Some are very hidden. Some, as in last years "The Incredible Hulk" are not. He can discuss so much. from his days in the early 40's, long before the name marvel was used, to now. he is always on the cue with what is haapening or has happened in comics. Great interview. Could have been longer.

It figures they'd base a game on my least favorite Marvel storyline. I was kind of hoping they'd do secret wars or secret war. They killed off my 2nd favorite character, Captain America, at the end of civil war, and replaced him with a wannabe who used to be one of the worst super villians. At least they haven't killed off Wolverine (permenetly), yet. He is my favorite Marvel character. I wonder if, in the game, they'll let you change the story so Cap lives. Now that would be good. Anyway, Stan Lee is the coolest.

Stan Lee is the god of all comic book.

I just popped in to watch this vid but....

@Mikey1611: Yes, I did (before the whole storyline went to crap). For much the same reason that we eventually evolved out of the Wild West days when anyone and everyone could strap on a gun and use them however they saw fit, the Superhero Registration act was a logical response that had been years in the coming. Stanford was not only an inevitability but had been happening on a smaller scale for years in comics everytime two superpowered types (whether it was a villain/hero matchup or a hero/hero matchup) decided to burn off some energy. I think Marvel editorial was surprised by how popular the act was so they kept trying to demonize the whole thing.

As for Cap coming up with a better solution......the writing in Civil War eventually denigrated the two leaders into Iron Fascist vs. Captain Sociopath. By the time of the refinery incident, Cap wasn't really looking for any form of solution

Stan Lee's just awesome, such a creative and easy going dude, still inspiring people with fun filled stories he came up with ages ago. The man's gotta feel proud of himself.

  • saiyanman5215

@LordAndrew - I dont think Marvel would let would let the game publishers "pervert" the source material but I think they do let them have a little freedom (as all "artists" are allowed)....now if they were a bit more discrectional with hollywood, we'd have more accurate and/or consistent movies to enjoy as well....at any rate, I dont think Marvel wants to go thru another bankruptcy circa the mid 90's so I think they will be making good "business" decisions for the most part from now on

  • LordAndrew

    Posted Jul 26, 2009 5:24 pm PT

@saiyanman5215 The developers do generally seem to be fans of the source material. But if Marvel for some reason let a developer that doesn't actually care for the characters handle development of a game, then that could be a problem. Luckily I don't think that's likely to happen.

@geedotherodian Yeah, that's me. Do I know you?

@lordandrew do you have a giantbomb account called lordandrew?

  • saiyanman5215

    Posted Jul 25, 2009 2:43 pm PT

@LordAndrew - when you think about it, he probably dreamed something like this happening way back when they were just starting out.....now to see the creations he (along with Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and countless others) helped created and cultivate come to life in a truly interactive and responsive manner, he probably couldnt care less about the game's playability in typical gamers terms.....now if the powers themselves where misrepresented, then "we" might have a problem

@mikey1611 - no, I personally dont support the registration act.....the day the government starts telling heroes who the "supervillians" are, the day the whole thing blows up in our faces......like cap said in the early stages of that storyline, it was an emotional response to a terrible tragedy and they should have taken the time to come up with a better solution.......it did make for great storytelling though.......

Looks like Brian had a good time.
The best part was at the outset where Stan took a peek at Brian's event pass to find his name. Stan is seriously a character. Meeting him at last year's Comic-Con was excelsior!
