On 5/5/2009, Fallout 3's third $10 add-on, Broken Steel, was released. In this pack, you join the Brotherhood of Steel to rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave. It also allows you to return to the game after completing the main quest, and raises the level cap to 30.

the "speech" option reminds me of the 'persuade' dialouge choice in KOTOR games.
thats a good thing, and it tells you the % here so thats even better!

and to answer BamaBoys4Life's question, Wes Johnson does the voice of Lucien Lachance in Oblivion and yes he is also the voice of mister Burke in Fallout 3.
theres an interview on this link http://planetfallout.gamespy.com/articles/features/277/Interview-with-Wes-Johnson and it explains how he was chosen for the part/s etc.
    hope that helps

I hope there will be a Construction-Set too! As for what the (Video Preview) has shown me, and I am a die-hard Oblivion fan is that Bethesda has improved their graphics engine which is great! I see an super(technical version) from parts of Bio-Shock as this was a second favorite of mine. I never saw Fall-Out 1, 2 so if it was a hit then Bethesda s reputation has sold me here too. The Stratagy Guide is available also and I know I will need that.

Lots of games have a pause time thing- eg- resistance, ratchet and clank, bioshock...etc. I like it, it adds a bit more strategy and fun.

Looks like Bethesda finally got the balls to put some REAL profanity in their game.
    Good for them!
Makes the game seem 10x better.
    thumbs up from me

For all you idiots that keep *censored* about voices...they hired over 30 different actors to do the voices. Yes, there ARE some voices that Oblivion used. So what? How many characters has the chick in Mass Effect done? Shes in like every video game. Voice acting isnt all that broad a career, yknow? You have cross-overs. The fact that they have 1)Liam Neeson, and 2)Malcolm McDowall...I dont see how that gives anyone room to *censored* about the voices. Now if youll excuse me, back to watching the demo's for the millionth time.

This is definitely improved from oblivion. Multiple character-specific dialog choices, better faces, better voice-acting...

Also, Mr Burke is likely to be Lucian Lachance, The Dark Brotherhood recruiter.

  • Nosnitsttam

    Posted Oct 20, 2008 9:23 pm PT

@joker - you play as a human. The person on the cover is a human in Brotherhood of Steel armor. I'm willing to bet that you can actually get that armor too at some point.

  • Nosnitsttam

LAME! THEY ONLY TALKED TO TWO PEOPLE IN THE GAME AND ONE OF THEM WAS THE SAME VOICE ACTOR!! THIS MEANS THAT ALL THE VOICE ACTORS ARE THE SAME!!! god, people make me sick some times. Look, if you made a game with a great voice cast, wouldn't you want those people to come back? Also, it already got reviewed by OXM and even though i don't like them, they reported that while you'll hear familiar voices, there are plenty more voice actors this time around so a few voices still get used more than once, but not nearly as often as in Oblivion. Personally, i think the game looks outstanding and keeps a lot of what i loved about the 1st 2 games intact. The 28th cant come any faster.

  • Tarjanian

    Posted Oct 20, 2008 6:29 pm PT

Have an open mind people, this is not going to be that similar to Oblivion... I heard 1 voice from Oblivion in the Megaton video, and that hardly qualifies for using all the same voice actors or one for many NPC's like in Oblivion. Plus the animation is better, and the dialog scenes look to be better implemented. I personally think that Bethesda has done an amazing job on creating a living breathing wasteland in honor of the Fallout series.

do u play as the guy on the front cover of the ps3 (looks like hes wearnig a gas mask) or r just a normal-human.

For people who haven't played Oblivion, like my bro, this will seem really really awesome... But I'm worried for the other people who did play Oblivion, this will seem like Oblivion: Fallout Edition. Character interaction seems a lot more scripted in Bethesda games than in Bioware games, but oh well it'll still be good.

Just imagine if Bioware would have made this! ZOMG! :O

They rehired some of the oblivion voice guys again i guess

Oh i have a few questions, anybody know if their'll be " sex " ? Just asking because the ESRB is mature

    Posted Oct 16, 2008 12:14 pm PT

Oh, that radio song... probably the most Falloutish thing in the whole game. Still, looks like a pretty cool game if I don't mind a postnuclear Oblivion with a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. RPG overlay.

  • Wolan_PL

    Posted Oct 16, 2008 10:18 am PT

And for this seemingly important Mr. Burke they HAD to use the same voice that belongs to one quarter of Oblivion characters.

Man, that bartender sure was having a good time with that radio, eh? This game looks a lot better, though I can recognize several voices. I did see one or two new ones, though. I think I saw somewhere that this game has fourty voice actors.

I just wish they would have went the extra mile with the dialogue. It seems like oblivion in the way you talk. Especially when talking to mr. burke. Bethesda never was good with the "talking" part of an rpg like bioware is. In mass effect the conversations flowed really smoothly. But that's a minor issue. Still gonna be a great game.

Yeah, i think Mr. Burke was the guy from the dark brother-hood who comes to you in your sleep if you kill someone!
