Texas Hold 'Em to get update

This week's Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays offering is a patch addressing some user complaints about poker title.

If there's one thing card players can't stand, it's a cheat. Microsoft has determined that there are a number of card sharks dealing from the bottom of the virtual deck, as it will release an update to its Texas Hold 'Em poker game as this week's Xbox Live Arcade Wednesdays offering.

Microsoft has said the patch will eliminate known exploits used to inflate rankings on the game's online leaderboards, and that the rankings will be reset to ensure their validity going forward. A number of other tweaks have been made, including multiple changes designed to speed up the flow of a game. Players can now play immediately when joining a table by posting the big blind, as well as enter an "away" mode that automatically posts blinds and folds their hands until they return. Furthermore, users who let the timer expire more than three times will be automatically kicked out of the game.

In addition, Microsoft is making blinds proportionate to table stakes and correcting matchmaking oversights that could have players joining tables they couldn't afford. However, one expected feature of the game, support for the Xbox Live Vision camera, won't be included in this update. Microsoft says that feature will be added in another update, due early next year.

The Texas Hold 'Em update should be available for download Wednesday morning at 1 a.m. PST.

They need to speed this game up more than that. Takes so long to get through a hand against the CPU that I can't even see how people get million dollar offline bankrolls.

Well if they reset rankings it's only common sense that your bankroll will also be reset otherwise it would be pointless.

Letting people play straight away by posting BB is just ridiculous, unless they still have to wait for the button.

Also there should be a limit on how many times you can borrow from the bank in one session (or day) to stop the constant all-in plays before the flop.

wait, reset ranking? so will our bankrolls be reset or just ranked by how much we win from now on?

I don't like the away mode thing. That will be exploited the same way as people leaving. Guarantees third place. At least people won't have to suffer for it. I loved that game the first week it was out. Then I lost my poker lust. This might snag me for another week, though. It's a decent patch.

I play this game regularly, but didn't know people were cheating/inflating. In what ways have they been cheating?

hey thats a great idea seeing as NOBODY even play texas hold'em. When it comes to lame and unnecessary patches, Microsoft needs "to know when to hold em!"

Thank you! With this update it will make this game the #1 online poker game on a console. And the cheapest. I love getting up on the weekends making coffee and playing Texas Hold em. Theres nothing better. But I stoped because of cheaters and people going idle for to long.
