Luxor 2 to hit Live Arcade this week

MumboJumbo's ball-busting casual game sequel set to join the Xbox 360's downloadable game roster this Wednesday.

After five straight weeks of Xbox Live Arcade releases targeted at the core gaming market, Microsoft is offering something for more casual players. This Wednesday, MumboJumbo's Luxor 2 will be joining recent offerings like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game.

Much like the Xbox 360 launch Marketplace title Zuma Deluxe, Luxor 2 has the player striving to eliminate a string of multicolored balls snaking across a playfield. The player shoots additional balls into the playfield to match strings of three or more of the same-colored balls, which then disappear. Unlike Zuma, the player shoots the balls from a moving platform at the bottom of the screen, rather than a fixed turret in the middle of the playfield.

The Xbox 360 version of Luxor 2 features 88 levels, 13 new bonus rounds, multiple difficulty levels, and an exclusive new arcade-style gameplay mode called "Pharaoh's Challenge." Luxor 2 is rated E for Everyone, will be downloadable from the Xbox Live Marketplace starting Wednesday at 2 a.m. Pacific, and will sell for 800 Marketplace Points ($10).

    were is double dragon i cant wait much longer.microsoft need better games than this if they are to compete with sony and nintendo.

    @nkaiton, yeah man...DOUBLE DRAGON and DOUBLE DRAGON 2......i still have my NES DOUBLE DRAGON games, but yeah they would rock on LIVE. for me personally, i'd love some KARATE CHAMP and KUNG FU. ahhh the memories....

    i hope POPCAP GAMES bring out more games on LIVE....TALISMANIA would be cool. im happy they brought HEAVY WEAPON and ASTROPOP to LIVE...cool li'l games. i like these puzzle games. sometimes i just wanna chill and play some simple games.

    There are already a gazillion games of this sort on Xbox live. When will these developers get off their arses and making something a little more original? Live Arcade has alot of potential for small original games and ideas but these sort of re-hashed tired out games fall far far short of that potential.

    XBL Arcade releases are getting boring again. Hopefully some game will put back some life... a game like Double Dragon? Or something else fun...

    A dull release! Boooo!!!

    Now that Castlevania: SOTN has been released, everything released in the future will no doubt pale in comparison.

    quit worrying about double dragon im disappointed that Catan is a completed game and stillhasnt shown up and was one of the original 10. i have luxor 2 on my cell for god sakes something new please MS

    microsoft needs to quit giving us crap we can play at popcap.com and give us some classics. the saturn's archives need to be plundered. radiant silvergun, where art thou?
