Jewel Quest hits Xbox 360 Marketplace

Complimentary demo and full version of new gem-matching puzzle game now available for download.

In addition to hosting a number of original titles such as Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, the Xbox 360 is gaining traction as a destination for ports of existing arcade and PC titles. Last night, the lineup saw another addition, in the form of iWin's puzzle game, Jewel Quest.

Jewel Quest combines the gem-matching mechanic of Bejeweled with changing playfields, a stock of lives, and the requirement of completing a match on every square of the playfield to advance to the next level. As players navigate the game's 180 levels, they'll also find buried relics, cursed items, and other twists.

Jewel Quest has been rated E for Everyone and will run Xbox 360 owners 800 Marketplace points, or $10.

Are you kidding me? Half Life as an Xbox live arcade game? Street Fighter is so much more of a realistic choice since it is actually an arcade game.

oh gawd, STREET FIGHTER? C'mon, I'd like something other than puzzle games, but SF? Mediocrity comes in many forms, ie. Jewel Quest, Pool, and Street Fighter. Let's try getting some of the great PC games of yore on here, like Rebel Asault, Half Life (via a port to Stream) or just getting those Midway games on here...FINALLY!?!?!

Give us something different from variations on the same thing (1: robotron, smash tv, geo wars, mutant storm r.) (2: puzzle games). Live arcade is going to fizzle out if it doesn't start bringing more titles worth buying like SF2 hopefully will be. Where's the Contra, double dragon, virtua fighter, etc type games? We want some classics, not ports of continuous small pc games.

Great! One more hard to beat puzzle game! I'm starting to get sick and tired of those Arcade games that are incredibly hard to unlock the stupid achievements. STREET FIGHTER please!
I'll give it a try though...
