    i have to disagree with most of the people on here, maybe i'm just being loyal.. i've played every one of the silent hill games and never been disappointed. the graphics are one of a kind and although the combat could have been better there is no other game series out there with such awesome & unique storylines. i do see where gamespot is coming from with this one, its pretty different than the rest but hey, its also been developed by another company.. overall, i say keep 'em coming, i'm still going to keep playing.

    i love survival horrors but silent hill has always been a disapointment for me as there are always better games (Resident Evil), i watched this trailer for the game to redeem itself but no..the atmosphere and pretty much everything about it is the same and still isnt scary i mean come on it does a whole little video to show just ONE MINGEY LITTLE MUTT! come on you gotta have more than one enemy at a time whats scary about a single dog.. if you want to be satisfied by a survival horror buy DEAD SPACE it is so much better than this rubbish!

    No HUD = better for the atmosphere

    "Achievement unlocked!" = worse for the atmosphere.

    This is going to be my first Silent Hill game, buying it despite seeing a review about it already. I'm just hoping it's not an absolute horror. What I mean by that, is that it's not broken, short, shallow, etc... Then again, if this is your first survival horror game (other than re54) then you might be like me and buy this game just to see what their like. (other than RE4, that game kicked ass.)

    The atmosphere & new or re-imagined locations are more important than gameplay mechanics... or even graphics, for that matter.

    And I think they're pretty damn good, personally. The scenes with Alex fighting nurses have about the same visual quality as the movie, at least as far as I can tell from the SD videos.

    If you don't like Silent Hill it's your own personal preference. Personally, I think hell, the paranormal and the inexplicable are more frightening than zombies... zombies... and wait! More ZOMBIES! What's the next horror game about... ZOMBIES! Oooooh, f*cking scary.

    I don;t see the graphics as being that bad... plus I think in the past not having the best grafics helps with the mood!!

    But the overall theme is stil the same...getting weapons and hitting monsters,except for better graphics,i see no diffrence in it from it's past series.

    Yeah, graphics arn't great, but other than that I'm surprised by how it's shaping up, using a different developer seems to have worked for a change.

    Graphics are mediocre at best...worst thing though is that KONAMI has been feeding us the same thing since 1998...and people like it!Some times I can't get into the mind of the average money spender.I mean look at it:Silent Hill 1:Fake HD Edition...
