    At the end, Jun answers that he likes the japanese band 'suck nut show'... No surprise at all.

    Fail DLC is fail DLC. Think about that before going on about how to please your customers. SF4 costumes, MM9 difficulty, RE5 versus. I've got a new phrase for when a company tries to rip someone off with DLC-unlocks, "pulling a Capcom". Not to say the games are bad or anything, they're not. Just the business tactics.

    Anyways, as far as "one unified console", bad idea. There must be solid competition in the market or things will get stale and quality will drop. There'll be no one to try and do better than thus no one will try, period. We'll just get a bunch of mediocre games thrown at us because they know there's no competition.

    @smokingtiger311

    Thomas Harris is the first author. He wrote the Silence of the Lambs books. As far as the other two... I have no idea.

    Ferid84 why is it that the 3 some of the biggest games of 2008 were american and other countries developers and not jap Like Gears or War or call of duty or fable or fallout 3 or GTA4 Himm what did the japs make the only gaem i can think of is MGS4 thats it.

    What were the two names he mentioned in the 'artist' subsection? I kept replaying it, but couldn't understand it: "Thomas H---" something, an author. And then he mentions another person totally unintelligibly right after. Lastly, what was the name of the Japanese/Indian? musician he mentioned?

    If anyone knows, I would greatly appreciate a response! Also, maybe you know of a way to get transcripts for this video?

    Thanks.

    Yes GameSpot! Finally BtG lives again! Has always been my favourite feature here and I really enjoyed this one as well. Please continue making these, though I know you've covered many of the really big-hitters already.

    while having one, unified platform would be nice, quality of games would go down too. you need competition to create a healthy market.

  • danger_aaron

    Posted Mar 16, 2009 5:35 pm PT

    that would be nice to have all games on one console though

  • danger_aaron

    Posted Mar 16, 2009 5:34 pm PT

    you can't have one universal game console because without variety and competition the quality would drop

    He makes a very important point there. Success is not in sales numbers. It whether or not the game is actually satisfying when you play it without the backlash for dumb overlooked things in a game that we notice. Look at how many people that bought fable 2 for example =/

    I like his viewpoints on what makes a game a success...if you make a game based on What You Think People want, then the game doesn't feel natural & authentic...and people notice that *cough sales...

    hes soooo right about the connection between sucess and sales.
