Penny Arcade Episode 2 drops Oct. 29

Hothead Games' second crack at comic duo's exploits arrives next Wednesday for Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and Linux; PS3 release set for later this year.

Gamers will soon be able to inch a bit further out On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, as Hothead Games today announced an October 29 release for the second episode of its Penny Arcade Adventures series. The game will available to download next Wednesday on the Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and Linux.

As the name suggests, Episode Two picks up after the original game's conclusion, with Gabe and Tycho of the Startling Developments Detective Agency continuing to explore mysterious happenings in New Arcadia. Players can import characters created in the first episode or start from scratch, and Hothead has also added multiple difficulty levels to the formula. The episodic developer expects players to need between six and 10 hours to complete the game.

Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness - Episode Two will run Xbox Live users 1,200 Microsoft points ($15), while desktop customers who download the title from Greenhouse Games will be charged $14.95. Makes sense PS3 version will be released later.

Considering we just got the first one, need time to complete it!

This is a good alternative to all the people that cant afford all the retail games this year. I think it should do pretty well.

Hopefully the original will drop to $10 or $15, I enjoyed the demo but didn't really have time for the full game then.

with me now playing Fable 2 now and Fallout 3 coming out next week, you think I have any time to play this! No! So talk to me about this game sometime in early 09. Enough said
