GameFly Rental Charts Feb. 24-Mar. 2: Killzone 2 victorious

Guerrilla Games' sci-fi shooter prevents Xbox 360's clean sweep of rental service's weekly charts.

It isn't often that Microsoft's Xbox 360 is ousted from the top of GameFly's weekly console and portable rental charts. Of course, it also isn't often that an exclusive of Killzone 2's caliber is released. Last week, Guerrilla Games' critically lauded PlayStation 3-only sci-fi shooter debuted to avid rental enthusiasm, according to GameFly's rental activity for the week of February 24-March 2.

However, similar to the prior week's Street Fighter IV for the PS3 anomaly, the remainder of the chart belonged to the Xbox 360. Console exclusives Left 4 Dead, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, and Gears of War 2 picked up the second, third, and fifth slots in GameFly's chart, and Call of Duty: World at War placed fourth.

After its debut at number one a week prior, Street Fighter IV slipped to eighth, having been surpassed by F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin in sixth and Fallout 3 in seventh. Prince of Persia and Fable II rounded out the week's rental activity, slipping into the ninth and tenth slots, respectively.

    Strange how people are making a big deal about the RENTAL charts... and not the sales charts. More people would rather rent these games than own them. So why are the FEW ps3 fans soooo happy? Can't believe this was the only good thing game-spot could report about this game... It's just a Halo wanna be game anyway(It's not even an original idea).Btw Halo is a way way WAY better game.

    killzone 2 just came out, its not surprising its #1, Gears of War 2 has been out how long? and its still up there. not gunna lie tho, i did wanna play killzone 2 tho . kinda funny tho they called ps3 on top an "anomaly"

    To see that one game take over the number 1 spot and dominate the others 9 games from 360. It is a sign n also a message to any loud mouths 360 FB out there that " THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING " better watch your backs cause more are coming.

    It's surprising how much SF IV has dropped in just one week since its release, especially to games that have been out for a while like L4D, COD WaW, and Gears 2 (all great games too, just have been out for much longer).

    first papavico star ocean is NOT a meh game. I've been trying to get left 4 Dead for so long I just whent and had to go buy it. Glad I did because this spring we get free DLC. how awesome is that.

    So we have 1 PS3 game no wonder it's in top. 360 is spreading the user base from 2-???. Combine all those and we have 80%+ GameFly users are Xbox 360 owners.

    I bought Killzone 2 today, this game is pretty f*** good! And yes, I have and PS3 e xbox360 , I`m not a Sony fanboy. Killzone 2 is just that good!

    yeee... something worth mentioning, 360 owners don't really buy their games. they just rent and burn to their modded consoles... only time they are online is in the rental period with the original game. lol. suckers!

    Pretty impressive, but the 360 still has the hardcore following as can be seen in spots 2-10 (burn games to a modded console hardcore).
