E3 06: Free Radical announces Haze

New first-person shooter from the team behind TimeSplitters will hit PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2007.

LOS ANGELES--Ubisoft is set to publish a new first-person shooter from British developers Free Radical Design. The game is named Haze and will be shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo for the first time ahead of its scheduled release in early 2007 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

Set 25 years in the future, the game stars Jack Carpenter, who is a newly enlisted soldier in an outsourced military outfit named the Mantel army. The outfit has access to high-tech vehicles, weaponry, and performance-enhancing biomedical support.

The game starts as Carpenter is sent to a war-torn South American country to fight a rebel faction named The Promise Hand. From here, Ubisoft says that "things quickly begin to look a little strange."

Online modes will include co-op and multiplayer. We'll have more on the game from the booth direct from E3.

It looks good, its a shame dat there isnt a offline co-op mode but the good thing is that the PS3 will have wi-fi capabilities so it will make it so much easier to get online, and plus its free online 4 the PS3 and i would get Haze, Call of duty 3 and resistance fall of man cuz my m8s n i play a lot of multiplayer fps's n we do tons of deathmatch's so it will b realy good on da ps3 plus it will be more powerful than the xbox360 so i can show off lol!!!

The reason why Free Radical turned the Wii down because the Wii isnt powerful enough. http://www.frd.co.uk/faq.php?id=3#faq_3

Why are you all moaning about the lack of a Wii version?

You're looking at an X360 game, after all. . .

Graphics look sweet in screenshots, like TimeSplitters meets FarCry, which is only a good thing.

Check out www.Hazegame.com for the trailer. If Free Radical continue to have a solid story and characters as the core of their games, this could be an extremely satisfying FPS and not just another 'kill everything for points' fare.

These guys at Free Radical are great at FPS; I'm sure that this game will be awesome!!! I just hope that they can make a Wii game... It should be nice if they could make an announcement.

Haze looks like it has potential, but hopefully it will have something to distinguish itself and not just be another run of the mill FPS.

"Wii were betrayed by Free Radical! NOOoooOOOooooo.."
*sigh* If anything the only people FRD has betrayed is Sony seeing as how TS was a PS2 exclusive

I hope they make TimeSplitter 4, TS is better than Halo for multiplayer (offline).

Why does everyone think this will come out for Wii? FRD has said that it won't so it won't.
