Any which way it's cut, Microsoft's Summer of Arcade initiative last August was nothing short of a monumental success. In a single month, the publisher pushed onto its Xbox Live online platform critically acclaimed hits Braid, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2, Galaga Legions, Bionic Commando Rearmed, and Castle Crashers. In the process, Microsoft realized a 67 percent spike in revenue from the service during the period, setting a new monthly-sales record in the process.

Undoubtedly hoping to repeat that success, Microsoft revealed its Days of Arcade promotion today, which will begin March 18 with the release of Hasbro Family Game Night. The six-week, seven-game drive will then continue with the release of The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, Flock, Lode Runner, Outrun Online Arcade, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, and Uno Rush, though not necessarily in that order.

Microsoft expects to announce official dates for the remainder of the lineup by way of Xbox Live's director of programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb's blog beginning on March 23.

I've been hanging out for the new Puzzle Quest. The first one was beyond addictive. Hopefully the Lode Runner version is worth it.

outrun gets my microsoft points the second i see it avaiable for download. i'm not even going to bother trying it out (as if outrun fan's haven't played the xbox version from outrun 2 or outrun 2006 coast to coast allready )

oh, and if sega is looking for their next projects, here are some games i'd like to see:

first i'd like to see the outrun 2 courses and the missing 5 ferrari's as a add on for the new outrun online arcade game.

second, bring us crazy taxi. lovely arcade racing with the focus on bringing passengers as cool and fast as possible to their destination ! loved it on the dreamcast. but please, use the orginal arcade samples, just like the dreamcast did. not the one's from the playstation 2 version.

virtua racing. exept for a rather good converson on playstation 2 (on that sega compilation disk with also a 3D version from outrun on it), we never had a truely arcade perfect version. this is the time to give us a force feedback compatible version

virtua fighter. the grand daddy of 3D fighters can't miss out ! maybe a bit slow in speed, but the skillfull gameplay and wonderfull animation still shines in this ever green.

turbo outrun. this never got a proper home release. the extra speed is exelent, and as this is a verry small game in memory size, it can come dead cheap !

outrunners: same as above, but with versus racing online ! because the orginal game has a 4 people versus mode. this could do verry well with the older gamers who loved the original game.

super hang on. fast arcade motor racer. also this never got a proper release, and i loved the arcade game.

i can go on, but the one's mentioned here i will buy without even having to think about it. so how about it sega, i for one would be oh so gratefull

Uno Rush, Yahtzee and Battleship on live makes me smile. Plus Dishwasher finally, this 6 week period is going to be amazing for the xbox arcade.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 needs to come to the arcade. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

hum... Puzzle Quest was the one I was most interested in, but the PC equivalent doesn't have great reviews. I was hoping they were holding back the XBLA version to fix it... turns out they were saving it for a 6 week, 7 game gimmick instead... bummer.

Finally The Dishwasher, that game is just awesome, played the demo last year.
A perfect combination of God of War with platform action and gothic artwork.

I loved Lode Runner way back when it was on the Apple IIe. Can't wait to see what's been done with this long-too-dormant franchise. And Galactrix is a must-buy for me.
