Deadline set for Faith and a .45

Studio behind Total Overdose, Chili Con Carnage takes aim at a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style story for consoles.

Having thoroughly shot up Mexico in the over-the-top action games Total Overdose and Chili Con Carnage, Deadline Games is making a run for the border. For Faith and a .45, its debut offering on the latest generation of consoles, the Denmark-based developer is changing the setting to the US, circa 1930 and the Great Depression.

Taking clear inspiration from the real-life exploits of notorious bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde, Faith and a .45 follows Luke and Ruby, a couple of outlaws in love who are criss-crossing the country with guns at the ready. Looking to stop Luke and Ruby's spree will be a nefarious oilman and the oppressive forces at his command. Deadline is emphasizing the game's cinematic aspects, focusing on characters and referring to the game as a "gritty, emotional shooter."

As for the game behind the story, Deadline said only that it would feature cooperative multiplayer gameplay. Faith and a .45 doesn't have a publisher lined up as of yet, but the developer is inviting specific companies to view the game at next month's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

    This looks more like a movie than a video game... Plus a girl with terrible, terrible facial acne. Or someone with terrible, terrible skills at drawing freckles. I don't know...

    I like redheads. Anyways, a game based on the 1930s, that's hardly been done before, hopefully this game will rock.

    @SemiMaster
    Seriously Kane and Lynch wasn't that bad, defintely could have baked in the oven a little longer and ironed out some issues but otherwise I found Kane and Lynch fun. But anyway this titles sound really cool, I just hope that this game is released in the U.S.

    Interesting, just stumbled upon this and it could be one to watch. Doubt it, but who knows. I like the time period at least.

    How can any of you make positive assumptions about this game given this brief article that is basically a pitch for a game without a publisher.... And from a company with a not-so-stellar track record of PSP and PC games that, instead of not so subtly borrowing from the Bonnie and Clide legend, stole rather blatantly from Robert Rodriguez' 'El Mariachi' series of films. The company has a lot to prove where credibility is concerned. I'm going to assume this will be just another another shallow outing based on quick cheap thrills. A judgement based on track record and not just 'a cool idea'.... I hope none of you are of voting age....
