Today, Microsoft updated Xbox Live Marketplace with the first of five Fable II episodes, a complimentary rerelease of Lionhead's 2008 Xbox 360-exclusive role-playing game. The remaining four chapters (which also unlock the game's online features) will be available for purchase at a later date, and the downloadable edition of Fable II is fully compatible with the Knothole Island and See the Future expansion packs. Fable III is due out sometime next year.

As is the Wednesday custom, Microsoft's online storefront will be updated with new Arcade games, with three $10 (800 MSP) games on tap. This week will see the arrival Bust-a-Move Live!, Taito's remake of its own 1994 arcade puzzler Bust-a-Move (aka Puzzle Bobble). Besides updated graphics, which will include Xbox Live Avatars, the game will sport 135 single-player stages, eight opponents in CPU Battle mode, and Infinity mode, which lets players play indefinitely. Rated E for Everyone, Bust-a-Move Live! will also feature offline and online multiplayer, the latter with voice chat.

Also in the Japanese remake department is Backbone Entertainment's Military Madness: Nectaris, a rework of Hudson Soft's 1990 TurboGrafx-16 turn-based strategy title, Military Madness. The game will have completely new 3D graphics, as well as new commander units and multiple command views. Rated E10 (Everyone 10+), it will also boast four-person online multiplayer and stat-tracking leaders.

Last but not least for soccer fans, Football Genius: The Ultimate Quiz is bouncing onto Xbox Live. As advertised, the I-Imagine Interactive-developed game is a soccer trivia title, offering over 3,500 questions about International, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish leagues, players, and teams. Four-player multiplayer and nine different game modes will be on tap, as will support for the Scene It? big button controller.

I already own Fable II, Are the episodes like that Valve did with Half - Life 2 or is it just the same damn game??
I'm not shelling out anything more than I have to especially with Fable III a year away or more if they end up pushing the release date back......
I've beaten the game a few times, I have the 2 addons and I'm happy with the game, can't wait to see the new one....

Yeah a free episode that makes you purchase the other episodes when you unlock achievements in the free episode. Definitely sounds like a demo to me. I wouldn't spend more than 20 dollars on Fable 2.

Man, I used to love Military Madness back in the day. Didn't have that cute friendly anime look of Advanced Wars, just a simple straight up military sim game that was almost clinical and sterile feeling, but in a good way...no useless clutter, no goofy story, just pure game. Plus that wolf howl sound whenever turns changed? Always made me smile...-=)

Wait... if what you say is true, was the first half of Fallout not good/long enough for you Yokuz? I mean i dont find that having dlc is bad considering that the game is REALLY long.

Yup. It's unregulated. It's ridiculous. Look at Fallout 3. 5 add-ons. All they did was cut the game in half and then make you pay for the remaining half (the 5 add-ons). Another $50. It's disgusting. This needs to be dealt with immediately.

Oh man ok this is an edited comment,I thought they were ADDING to the game and I have it already (bought it on ebay for 20 bucks lol) but turns out they're just rereleasing it in 5 episodes and giving the first episode free.....lamez0rz,well,lame for me,but I guess people who don't want to pay 20 bucks for the full game can pay 10 dollars for 1/5 of it now, lmao. But to be fair,my 20 bucks disc is used, but I reallllly don't care,it was owned by an adult and has less scratches than any of my other games.

How is Fable 2 going to be broken up into 5 episodes? I could see three, or maybe even four, but four is pushing it. The game was already short, and really only had four objectives (get your renown up, recruit hero of strength, recruit hero of will, recruit hero of skill... game over), so why try to stretch that into five episodes?

@DoomZaW He said the same about Fable 1 too and the PC got the Lost Chapters version once the XBox sales had dropped off.

@ blkstr89 i'd hate to break it out to you, but Peter Molyneux has announced several times throughout development and after release that Fable 2 is an exclusive to 360

Why would anyone buy Fable II in pieces when you can just get the whole package for dirt cheap now? Amazon has it for $27.99 with free shipping. Peter Molyneux's success continues to astonish me.

I would buy a 360 HD version of Military Madness instantly. -That 3D version looks awful.

I'm already downloading the free episode of Fable II so that I can try out the controls. As a PC version is getting more unlikely every day, I decided to finally buy the X360 game if the controls like me. So... thanks for the free episode (aka trial), MS. No XBLA game for me this week.
