Lol remember seeing this is 2007. Its ok and it is a teaser trailer. So it is not a real trailer with gameplay or anything like that and the games have always been pretty good so I think that this will not be bad.

The first is one of my all time favorites, I hope this one does it justice and doesn't play down like Invisible war.

1st game was probably my fav of all time. They kinda lost the script/magic on the 2nd, but 10yrs after the 1st I hope they can bring back excellence to the series (great story - detective, conspiracy, man vs. machine, man is machine, double cross, matrix/blade runner look, etc., & great action + rpg elements + open world). It's gonna be something to see J.C. Denton in today's video excellence. It was a dark, good looking game then & I expect it to look even better now.

Just don't tack on some fps multiplayer. Pls concentrate on making a great SP.

This isn't another Duke Nukem tho, Eidos will deliver, rt?

thenephariouson, that's good to see. The second Deus Ex was such a let down. In it's own right, or compared to the bulk of video game releases, I suppose Deus Ex 2 was pretty good, but Eidos set the bar themselves with Deus Ex 1, and 2 did not come close to matching it. Here's hoping for the best.

I don't know if this is coming to 360 or not, but if it is, hopefully MS will patch the f***ing sequel. I'm tired of seeing it in bargain bins and not being able to play it on the 360. I don't have an Xbox anymore, and I'm not a fan of PC gaming (though as a last resort, I may consider it.)

Admittedly, I remember seeing this when it came out and having minor interest but never giving it a shot. I played the PS2 port recently, and aside from porting issues (odd controls and insane loading screens) and old (bad?) game design choices (having to find a tiny item or keypad to proceed, etc), it was a really cool game.
The atmosphere and story really did it justice, even despite being outdated and limited in scope, no doubt due to limitations of hardware.
Still, I didn't think I'd enjoy it all that much, and it proved me wrong. That rarely happens.

Also, that music was so good. Too good if you ask me. It must be a conspiracy.

It would be sweet if they made it like the others, but had the fallout idea, where you can roam around and do what you want when you want in any order. Only no nuclear bombs dropped, its a full functioning city. But thats just me.

I own both Deus ex 1 and 2 the trailer was hard to figure out both one and two were and are awesome. There is a movie coming out based on DX 1, which if they stick to story should be great waiting to see when the DX game hits the market as well movie waiting with child like anticipation

I cant wait for the new Deus Ex to come out! I loved the previous ones.

Does anyone know if Warren Spector has any involvement in this one?

    Posted Sep 14, 2009 12:35 pm PT

First one was a great game, second one was a good game, but could have been longer + the endings and story line at the end were a bit crappy + the maps were a bit small, so you had the feeling of being trapped in a box or going along a narrow path, which was not the case with deus ex, where you could explore and find new things. I hope that this one will have the feeling of the first game.

please make it more like the first one the hud and the person in the top left hand corner. i hope they have the skills if they make it like the first but next gen it would be a marvel masterpiece obviously with an amazing story and the music from the first one. it has to be like that which was the problem with the 2nd they changed it to much "deus ex the best game ever"

I think that was a fetus. That's just creepy. I loved Deus Ex. 2 lost some of the flavour, so here's hoping they go back to basics. Can't wait guys.

    Oooh, Deus Ex 1 music!

  • thenephariouson

    Posted May 11, 2009 3:32 pm PT

I found this, it sounds truly awesome, and ultimately its Ubisoft, who dont exactly have a reputation for making **** games!:

You're cast as average joe Adam Jensen, who works as a private security officer at a technology lab specialising in biomechanical augmentations, a forerunner to the sort of nanotechnology shown in the original Deus Ex. One day the path of his life is unexpectedly altered as a team of black ops commandos break into his company's HQ, and using a security plan from Jensen's own hand, a mass slaughter ensues and the conspiracy begins.

"Deus Ex 3's vision of the future sees holographic screens flicker atop ferries moving back and forth in front of the Shanghai skyline, now split into two layers with the rich on the top and the poor in perpetual twilight below,"

Eidos Montreal says it's more than aware of fan reaction to controversial second game, Invisible War, and promises mistakes, such as limiting ammo types to just one, won't be repeated. This said, they are doing their utmost to please newcomers as well as existing fans. Perhaps controversially this time around combat won't be influenced by stats, but will rely purely on your personal marksmanship skills. Instead stats will influence "a vast array of fully upgradeable and customisable weapons", and you'll be able to tailor your arsenal to your play style with mag upgrades, scopes and other add-ons.

What's more, stealth will now rely on a cover system rather than shadows, and damage will be dealt with by a very Call of Duty-style auto-heal. There's probably going to be some debate over those two.

Augmentations have been bumped up and sound fantastic. 20 have been promised for the final game, ranging from 'bungee jump' tentacles that shoot from your back and anchor to a wall when you jump off a building, and the ability to punch through walls to grab enemies in neighbouring rooms. Deus Ex 3 certainly sounds very, very promising - if a little controversial for die-hard PC fans. And just wait until you see the shots...

UPDATE: A slight clarification for those fearing that DX3 is straying from its roleplay roots - Eidos Montreal have confirmed, that you'll still garner experience points as you progress through the game. You'll then either choose to plug them into your self through your augmentations or your weaponry.

I'm with Nuraddin, and I wonder, can DX3 really live up to the reputation of DX1? There was just so much atmosphere and DEPTH to the first game, I haven't yet seen any other game that even comes CLOSE to parallelling it.

Get this one right please Eidos, you are going to upset a LOT of people if you don't...

The original Deus Ex is probably the most underrated game in history, and was the game that decided who were the really good game review writers in the world. When it came out, I remember reading average reviews on many publications, and some absolutely awesome reviews in others; I tried it for myself and didnt think much of it in the beginning. So, then times passes, and without noticing it, the game just starts to suck me in extremely compeling fashion. Due to the game's unequaled depth, I bought some books on the disturbing issues the game presents to you and some years later - today - I can honestly say that due to playing and replaying Deus Ex, I'm a much more cultured man. It lead me to read tens of books on the most variate subjects, all brought into my world (I was 18 at the time) by Ion Storm and today I can see that Deus Ex is quite possibly one of the best things ever done for the PC, arguably the best. If theres a throne to a PC game, it should be Deus Ex's. It was more than digital entertainment, it was a digital experience, a ...lecture... if you will.
So, Deus Ex 3 has, in the mind of many gamers out there, a huge legacy to live up to that the second game - even though it was a nice game - just couldnt deliver.
Eidos, please, please do it RIGHT. Old school style, no dumbing down. Or, if you don't want to risk, just do a deluxe and updated version of the first one; I'm happy with that ^^.

Deus Ex 1 is probably one of my favorite PC games of all time. Invisible War was probably one of the most disappointing games I've ever played given how much I like the first one. Hopefully they will go back to the rich story and excellent gameplay of the first one!
