    Agreed, kaliban.

    Let's take Grand Theft Auto IV, for example.

    It's a "ripoff" of Gears of War, Gran Turismo, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Max Payne, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, The Warriors, Tomb Raider, Wave Race, Halo, Tetris, Final Fantasy, and Super Mario 64.

    This game has two different types of aerial combat, one of which you can use while on foot, however you like, whenever you like. It has Vertical Combat, which has NEVER been done before. It has aerial hijacks, ones that you can actually FAIL, unlike Halo 2. It has progression, which Gears of War does NOT have; you are the same throughout that whole game. It has a unique, original setting: You are transported to an alternate dimension by flying into the Bermuda Triangle. In every game that Dark Void uses elements from, you're just a soldier killing some dudes. On foot. Gears of War is one genre. Halo has one genre. Mass Effect has one genre. Dark Void has THREE; third person shooter, flight simulator, and action/platformer. Having another game's star feature, does NOT make it a "clone". You retards. What, do you want Gears of War to be the ONLY game franchise that does a cover mechanic? Do you want Mass Effect to be the ONLY game franchise that has science fiction elements in a shooter? Do you want Tomb Raider to be the ONLY game that puts you on rocks and in ruins? COME ON, PEOPLE! SERIOUSLY!

    "Oh my god! Another game did these things before!!"

    WHAT A FREAKING SIN.

    Saddens me whenever an innovation in gaming influences future games and simple fools jump up and blubber out "clone! clone!" yet if a post innovation game comes out and dares to exclude a key feature the very same ones are the first to call the game backwards and 'not next gen' because it doesn't have cover features or the main character isn't some gloomy emo anti-hero that hates everyone or swears constantly and blood comes out of even inanimate objects. Make your damn minds up what you like and stop raining on everyone else's quality games you bunch a whiny 'bored' gamers. Woe be to all the super mario bros. clone cause they have a JUMP buttom. And btw, God of War did not invent beat em-up action or chain weapons.

    The main character fits the look of the generic hero. It doesn't look like they had much of an imagination when they were designing him. I hate to compare games, but... Kratos is the product of some very good creativity, and he doesn't look or act like any other character that Ive seen before. You can look at Kratos and see the conflict he has gone through, but you cant tell anything about this guy. The funny thing about this game is that my teacher's friend is one of the character designers, and chances are that I will get to meet this guy in one of my classes in the near future. Id like to ask them about what the idea was behind this characters design. I will probably post here again when I meet the guy.

    oh please people, just because you can take cover on an object doesn't mean that this is a gears of war clone. This particular video just doesn't do the game justice. Some of the flying sequences i've seen look pretty fun but i guess ill just have to wait and see for myself.

    whats with collecting orbs in games these days? It totally detracts from any realistic feel games like these had to offer in the first place

    @Gelugon_baat

    The game is still in production, isn't it? So maybe you're speaking a little too soon, you haven't even seen the final product.

    This game is way more like mass effect style fighting, and it looks great, agree to disagree Dominion, i will guess gamespot will rate this an 8.0, only thing i would change is more basic enimies besides the watchers

    And again we see VERY primitive, time-honored yesteryear animation of weapon-swapping: the player model storing weapons in an invisible dimensionless cabinet on his back, even if he's quite backed up against a wall, and pulling another big-as* gun out of the same cabinet afterwards. Gears of War has shown that weapon-swapping and storage can be done without causing weird animations and graphical oddities, so it is rather odd that a developer with an inspiring name like Airtight Games can overlook this. Hopefully, we are looking at a pre-beta build.

    Naah, doesn't look good. I grantee a rate of 7 or lower upon release. I hate the stability of the character's movements in games like this.

    this doesn't look very good...lots of bad textures and camera issues. i loved the old trailers. hopefully they're still tweaking a lot of the graphics and gameplay.
