Comic-Con 07: THQ Booth Report

THQ packs the muscle, both real and virtual, at its Comic-Con 2007 booth.

SAN DIEGO--If you needed just one word to summarize the THQ booth at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, you could do a lot worse than "brawny." In addition to the publisher's yearly installment of its WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008 franchise on-hand and in playable form, THQ also had a couple of fur-clad, iron-wielding, musclebound models on hand to help promote its upcoming action game Conan.

Also playable at the booth was the action driving game Stuntman Ignition, and Avatar: The Last Airbender -- The Burning Earth, an action game based on the popular Nickelodeon series. Those convention attendees with a Nintendo DS in tow and latent longings for an artistic outlet could download a playable demo of its upcoming Drawn to Life, which challenges the player's artistic abilities as much as their platforming skills.

Ive played the stuntman demo on xbl, and i liked it. They toned the difficulty down a bit, and it feels more like an arcade game than it used to. I agree with you too, lamprey, i dont see why a publisher should own the IP, it makes no sense. Ive kinda had it out for sierra, though, after their terrible port of FEAR meant id have to play Resistance untill the mass of online shooters hit in november. ugh, what a dissapointment...........

I wish Relic & THQ would buy the IP from Sierra to create Homeworld 3... well, developers should own IP, not the publishers, that's some bull****. I also think a Dawn of War port to the X360 and PS3 is due.

The first stuntman, was really hard, hopefully this one won't be as annoying.
